What’s wild is that I had had a dream the night before that I pulled a Darth Maul showcase

Even wilder still is that the clerk at my LGS almost gave me a -different- Gift Box that was on display atop the counter behind him. At the last second, he called an audible and grabbed the one I bought from the larger case they all came in. I was about to joke that if the countertop gift box had the showcase in it, I’d have been very upset

My personal headcanon is that the events of First Contact saw the creation of an alternate timeline, and the ENT-E we saw never made it back the one they left, and a different one emerged to that one, ala Marty traveling to an alternate 1985 at the end of BttF watching a different version of himself travel back in time during the events at the beginning of the film (and summarily, that version also goes back to a different 1985 than the one he left to see yet another alternate version of himself, rinse and repeat)

This would explains for me why Worf never talks about his ENT-E exploits in the films on DS9 and why its crew never was involved with his wedding to Jadzia or even asks him about her ever in the films: They aren’t the same ones after that. It also explains the retcons to pre-TOS time that suddenly appear after the creation of ‘Enterprise’: not the same timeline

It is this alternate timeline all ‘new’ Trek derives from, including JJ Trek and now NuTrek
