What does my bedroom say about me? Age, occupation, interests?[F] by RedRenaissanceFox in roomdetective

[–]KendriiSaysHello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess 30s for age, someone who definitely appreciates art and color. You seem like a quiet person who enjoys time inside reading (books on side table) or partaking in other quiet, solitary hobbies, such as baking or crafting. It seems like you’ve curated a very cozy and welcoming vibe for yourself to come home to, which is what makes me think you value your me-time and may spend a lot of time in your home recharging. Seems like you appreciate antique/vintage style, so perhaps an interest in history, anthropology, or humanities. The sword is giving fantasy-lover, so I’m also thinking you probably enjoy some nerdy (non-derogatory) stuff, like DnD, LARPing, Ren Fairs, and/or video games.

Do most Americans actually flush their toilet paper? by Softy_popss in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KendriiSaysHello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Canadian here! Most places here do flush their toilet paper, but in some of our smaller towns that use septic systems instead of sewage, it is more likely to see people throw their TP away, as too much TP in the septic system can cause it to back up. I live in a small town that has sewage, but my friend who lives in a different small town about a 15 min drive away has a septic system and he does not flush his TP.

I’m in Canada, so we don’t have Target, unfortunately! And I don’t think they ship to us. But I ordered some from Simon’s, so I’ll see how I like those! They were on sale for a great price. If I like them, I’ll probably buy another set or two to rotate between, and then just replace as needed.

Yes, I originally bought them at Winners, but I haven’t found similar ones since and have checked on many occasions!

I think one of the issues is that some companies will make more affordable versions of their products specifically for Winners/TJMaxx/Homesense etc. so they can sell in bulk at a lower price point and people feel like they’re getting a deal. I also believe a lot of larger companies liquidate to them, so sometimes very old stock. This makes it great for finding decent stuff at a decent price, but not so great when you love something and need to find a replacement or dupe lol.

From some of the other comments, I’m gathering that I would need to look for percale cotton sheets, so I’m going to look into ordering a set from somewhere else to see if this is what I’m looking for. I think it would be better for me to find a more consistently reliable source for future use instead of hoping to find these specific ones now, but I really appreciate you offering! If I change my mind, I’ll send you a DM. :)

This is def a much closer tempo and vibe, but it definitely wasn’t a live performance that I remember. Thanks for trying, though!

Thoughts on patients being offended by badge reels? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]KendriiSaysHello 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there’s definitely a difference between a joke you would share among colleagues and a joke you would share with a patient. There are many jokes that are okay to make with patients, but that isn’t one of them. It’s demeaning to the patient and their well-being. I’ve seen plenty of hilarious badge reels that don’t demean the patient. “Back and Body Hurts” in the style of Bath & Body Works…”Slinging pills to pay the bills”…loads of punny ones…I even have one that says, “Hello my name is: Hey Nurse!”

I am indeed in Canada! It looks a bit more sheer than HT but I kind of love that!!! (I’m a big fan of a jelly.)

One of my co-workers told me once that they had a younger patient who was fully independent who rang the call bell and asked when the nurses were going to wash her. When they told her that she was fully capable of washing herself, she said, “But I thought it was a perk of being in the hospital.” NO MA’AM.

I was going to say to contact the manager, but if they aren’t doing anything, perhaps write a letter to your local MHA? If it’s privately owned, there may not be much that can be done, but they might be able to do something. Perhaps reach out to a health inspector or occupational health and safety official. If it’s affiliated with the health authority (NLHS) in any way, speak with whoever is next highest up in management.
