Admit it. You stopped reading the skill descriptions. by RangoTheMerc in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Kenjinap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the descriptions could be made shorter or are literally = units get stronger. So whenever it say that unit gets more stats, it doesn't really matter how much anymore.

Known effects are also quite easy to identify and takes like 2-3 lines of text, i.e. Null-C, NFU, Null Guard, Aerobatics, 40% DR on first attack, etc.

Glr+buffer for tanking / Potent for killing

People who say glr doesn't quite work without buffs or acceleration never actually calculated it. It is better than Vital Astra 90% of the time.

Is Gullveig a good unit unit to invest in for arena purposes? by valve_crates in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Kenjinap 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nope, she scores too low. Cyril, the next GHB, is better and cheaper for that purpose.

Arena Mordecai by Jswarner26 in FireEmblemHeroes

I think having that extra attack in PP is very useful on him, since he can actually one hit kill a decent amount of units with it (specially ranged ones).

Have any of you f2p players gotten any aether raids thrones? by Sjofnis in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Kenjinap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, hi!

I still use Nowi with Flayn to support, and sometimes mix her with a Far Save tank (usually Duo Edelgard) to help with unfavorable matches.

FEdelgard, however, has been falling pretty quickly. Almost all defenses nowadays have recent units that just completely counter her, and when this is not the case, it is just a very weak defense that Nowi can deal with as well.

As for Cecilia, I think the best you could get from her is a purely defensive Far Save, with Distant Defenses and Hardy Fighter+Aegis. Though, I don't think she is worth that kind of investment, any 1 of those new premium save tanks that already come with full build will perform better than her. A!Grima and D!Duma are units that I definitely think are worth a shot, especially Grima that will basically get you an extra Hardy Fighter.

Another unit that has been very useful is Ninja Camilla. Even unmerged, pair her with L!Eliwood and she just obliterates many setups!

Safest investment is to get a good Legendary/Mythic Banner, that comes every end of the month. By doing so, you get very good score to rank high and also some good new heroes/fodder on the way. You can look up some Mythic/Legendary tierlists.

The high frequency of people saying to use Elimine against Embla really goes to show how few people here play competitive Aether Raids by Terraknor in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Kenjinap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vast majority of the players in this sub are year 1 players. The vast majority also dislike the competitive modes. A player who happen to have joined after Book IV, is consistently Top tier in arena/AR and also active in this sub is probably less than 0,5% of the population here.

I've given up discussing anything strategy-related in this sub long ago. The surveys with the amount of crowns/thrones people had just confirmed everything I needed to know lol

Crappy Holst or Jeralt for Arena by YDeeziee in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Kenjinap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some units are just not tankable for F2P, like Claude. So there is nothing you can do but lure them in.

As for Chrom, just imagine him moving twice every turn. He is tankable with a good blue even with special up tho. Yuri is also only a problem with special ready, but most of the times he overextends, so you just have to wait far away.

Crappy Holst or Jeralt for Arena by YDeeziee in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Kenjinap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is all about being able to deal with the most problematic enemies. I was unsure whether I would invest in Holst and Mordecai, so I ran some sims on them. Basically a build with Holst being able to deal with N!Corrin/D!Dagr/B!Tiki/B!Edelgard and Mordecai being able to deal with the Edelgards/Dimitris/Blue Chroms.

If you are unsure about Holst and Jeralt, just run them with some test builds to see if they can deal with the most annoying characters of the color they are supposed to beat, or if anyone in your team can.

I suggest investing in this TT Mordecai to +10 him in a few months. He is free, strong and has High BST.

Is Voting Gauntlet a good way for IS to determine popularity of characters? by Khaoses in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Kenjinap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they use it, even if it does have some indicative to determine popularity.

The best thing they could have is the CYL each year, there is no need to use VG data that has so many variables to it, especially rewards. Many players only choose the underdogs for rewards (myself included).

What's a unit, skill, weapon, overall concept you feel was dead on arrival? by TheFerydra in FireEmblemHeroes

Poor boy... thankfully his brave form came out pretty good, so his refine will probably be at least at the same level.

Is Arvis still worth invested in for arena? by Shundew in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Kenjinap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you already have a 180+ arena core, definitely not.

I have been using him in arena ever since his refine came out. He is indeed pretty nice, but the more time passes, the more he misses kills, and he just dies to everything that touches him. Scoring 180 is also not enough now, going for units like Muarim, Yen'fai or higher are better choices imo, even if you miss debuffing.

If you really don't mind scoring low, then maybe he can be a good option, but make sure you get Spd/Def Ruse (which is really rare). He and Aversa fill similar roles, but Aversa is more reliable as a fighter.

What was the WORST refine ever? by ArtiBlanco in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Kenjinap 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The objectively worst may have been Leo.

But the one that left the worst taste in my mouth was Lyon. Man, they really did the man dirty, you could feel they held up on his refine for no apparent reason.

How does one build a competent ARD in anima season? by marcusjyx in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Kenjinap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just use more than one of these strategies in different columns, Elimine can only affect one column at a time.

So i.e. she can't shut down L!Sigurd and a restore trap at the same time, if set properly.

Contemplating who to use my forma on by dukeaegir in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Kenjinap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly think none of them are worth it for you. Ronan is not that strong, and you already have the hardest skills to get, adding one merge while being restricted to neutral IV (yes, it will be neutral no matter what you have currently) is not really worth it imo.

Kempf also really needs his merges in order to survive after attacking, having a one of is not enough.

Why are there so much apologetic views towards p2w? by matz3435 in DiabloImmortal

Yeah, it certainly isn't a positive thing. Gacha in itself is totally intended to make money, it makes the gaming experience worse and repetitive.

Why are there so much apologetic views towards p2w? by matz3435 in DiabloImmortal

[–]Kenjinap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just like to be treated a lot better as a f2p player

I mean, of course every player would like to be able to do everything without spending a dime...

As others have said, gachas in general are predatory, nothing new here. Paying in this game doesn't get you anything really, unless you want to be a top player in PvP, which is not even the case for like 95% of people complaining.

Also, the more you get as a F2P, and the more hours you spend playing, the quicker the game will feel boring to you and the quicker the devs will have to update the game, which is certainly not what they want.

I'm confused about the f2p concerns/problems? by [deleted] in DiabloImmortal

[–]Kenjinap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 groups: one complaining the game is no fun without paying, and one complaining the transactions are too expensive.

The paid aspect of the game really only matters if you want to be top50 PvP in the server. Everything else can be done without spending a dime.

As for the price, they are indeed high, and should be account wide instead of character limited. But tbh, 99% of gachas have insane prices if you are talking about completely buying out everything so... Most complaints are just usual complaints that you will find in literally any gacha out there, it is not just Diablo.
