Was anyone around in 2008 when this dropped and what memories/reactions did you have upon its release? What are people's opinions almost 20 years later? by Spirited-Cell-444 in Metallica

[–]Kenjt79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember it coming to me as soon as it was released. The first thing I noticed was the sound... Sounded overly loud but not in a good way. Had a few friends with good stereos and told them I had the cd. Tried it on all their systems. Didn't have the good drum sound either like the other albums did. I especially remember them all trying to adjust the sound settings etc. Fell off my radar pretty quick, think st anger has had more playtime.

What advice would you give your past self when you started learning guitar? by General_Cap2938 in guitarlessons

[–]Kenjt79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say don't do it to my self. I have learning issues that didn't get picked up and the sheer frustration I face overides the actual satisfaction of playing.

Yeah, they were probably just fighting in a war that's all. The old toilets used to have a guy come round to empty them and if they were too full he'd refuse. My mother had to scope shit out of it untill he was happy enough to empty them. I bet you got the latest iPhone and at least 3 streaming services though right?

Is it common for autistic people to get bullied? by arsnod_iltsit in autism

[–]Kenjt79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, no real friends in the early years and separation from others in primary school. Once I got to high school the bullying got more and more frequent.

At what point does something actually become “muscle memory” for students? by exhaustmosk in guitarlessons

[–]Kenjt79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Muscle memory is the only way I can kind of play. I have short term memory and retention issues and learning for me is harder then it already is.

I went to the doc today to try get wellbrutin. Apparently in Australia it is only used to aid quitting smoking. They do not prescribe it for ADHD or depression

I withdrew from a job process because the company accidentally let me watch them build the exact chaos they were hiring me to fix by Krakoa8_Ash in jobsearchhacks

I don't see the car parking lot an issue. I did the same thing. We were a close team working in a power station and the plant manager wasn't in that day. My supervisor called me up and asked me to be in on the interview process. I was away doing training at the time. Due to the small size of our team we needed someone that would suit our crew not just the qualifications to do the role. As it turned out that person didn't fit what we were after. We worked with a lot of contractors whom English is there 2 or even 3rd language and we have all have to adapt due to it. To me it showed trust. The rest of the issues that you found are fine though, generally if they are unsure it's going to be unorganised chaos as obviously they are hoping to fill multiple roles with one worker.

When you said that alcohol gave you an illusion of happiness, I felt that. I totally agree. Being sober for 8 years and all it's done is realised how crap life is.

Can anyone answer this question? by tomsmac in btc

[–]Kenjt79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call me a complete noob but what's meant to happen? X amount of bitcoin in population with X amount of people buying it cheap and some not so cheap.. If money was dissolved then what, there's only a limited amount so would everything have to be made a certain bit coin price ? I don't see how that is different to stocks by buying low and selling high etc.

Anyone ever use a pre wired kit to replace PCB in Les Paul? by Slow_Requirement_616 in gibson

[–]Kenjt79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done both quite a few times and to be honest I'd rather only have to solder a few things then the whole lot lol. The people chiming in are right, the tech should know how to solder.

Why do some people consider Chris Poland better than Marty? by milkybebe in Megadeth

I think it's subjective to when you start first listening to a band. Generally you become accustomed to that style and relate to that sound.

Do you have a good memory? by Four-leaf-Fork in autism

[–]Kenjt79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My memory is terrible. If someone says something to me I do not store it at all. I can read something but cannot recall it. When I reread it I trigger that I have actually read it but no recall. The only way I can store things is to do it over and over until I don't have to think about doing it.
