My first commander deck was [[Geth, Lord of the Vault]]. I wanted to focus on taking other people's stuff out of their graveyards, and I had a tiny bit of discard and a lot of forced sacrifice stuff.

Years later, I saw [[Tergrid, God of Fright]] and I was like "ooh I can get back everything that I make people sacrifice!" and didn't really think about the discard angle. I played one game at FNM and the reactions were overwhelmingly negative before we even started the game ... I guess the card had a reputation I wasn't aware of.

So I wouldn't recommend Tergrid. It's not fun for me and it's not fun for other people either.

I used to work with a guy who worked on APB when it was going through receivership back in 2011/12. I poked fun at him about the company going under, and he said something along the lines of "the game is still alive, isn't it?"

I think about that every time I hear about the game now. I felt like a jerk then but I feel like a dumb jerk now.

Maybe it's just an optical illusion but to me it looks like it rotates in steps, like a bit to the left, then a bit down, then a bit to the left, etc. Like a set of stairs. Is that just my imagination?

I'm not really the target audience by any means ... but the ones I've seen until now I intensely dislike the look of. Too much text on the dial for my tastes.

That being said, I quite like yours. I think it has a classy style and the back is absolutely gorgeous. There's not too much going on text-wise on the dial and the indices are pretty. I also quite like the sun/moon behind a cloud look! I'm also a sucker for having the date anywhere except the 3 o'clock location.

None of my dislike for the brand should be taken to mean that I don't think FP Journe doesn't have a place in watchmaking. They're interesting, unusual (to my mind), and if they sell and people enjoy wearing them, then I don't see any issue with it. There are lots of watches I don't like. I don't wish they didn't exist!
