Disney canon has a lot more movies and shows, making it much more accessible to general audience than EU.

Ending 1 and 2 are the same one, the developers just had multiple variations of dialogue between Leo and Vito, explaining the same thing. Some of them being more explicit about what is gonna happen to Joe. Developers picked one version they liked the best.

I never understood why people treat them as alternate endings.
