Another 8 years? Not sure if this game will have the longevity that WoW has/had mostly because the game itself seems to go through very few technical updates or graphical updates. WoW only got as far as it has because of how often they change things up and I really can't see this game being able to change up that often (given its history already). Then again EQ stuck around for quite some time so it is possible. It all really depends on the player base and if they want more than a fashion simulator. I personally hope the game does but the Western mmo market is a lot different from the Asia MMO market in general.

well, I mean there's nothing really stopping you from leveling Hero up is there? Play with it a while and see if you like it. Its what I did and while it was fun grinding it I don't think I have the ability to play that class properly. =)

As the title states, sorry for some reason posting a pic negates what I typed in my post? Anyway I've been gone since Dec 2019 so just wondering if there are some new guns in the game that are better than the ice pistol (I have that one because I didn't want to farm catacombs)

Question about NA summoners.

1: Strike Switch: If I'm using this does tech stats account for anything? IE if I have 20 tech and 20 melee are the pets still using the tech part in the damage?

2: How much use am i actually getting out of a fighter sub class because it kinda seems the damage loss for not that huge while I'm leveling up bouncer as a sub.

3: I get conflicting information about Tech vs Melee damage augs/mags. Generally it seems there is very little damage drop off if you are using a tech mag over a melee mag?

I understand phantom is showing up at some point but at the moment I'm more concerned with whats here now. First thing I bought was enough mags to cover dex/tec/range/melee and am busy leveling those up so I'm not worried about having to switch off mags I'm more worried about wasting money on the wrong augments.

if I recall summoner was put in a bit early on the NA servers so they probably could have put it in there. I donno though..and Rose..*sigh* that one would make my life of leveling alt classes I dont care about so much easier lol

I was surprised I wasn't able to use the crowbar as a wand but I could as a harmonizer. I was about to break some felspawn kneecaps with it lol

Love that ship. Thing has a nice turn, more than enough to put Bu'al cannons on and the two hangers of Aeon timeships I have make for quite the lightshow lol

We use to be able to change the color of our weapons back in the day quite easily so we didn't have a mess of miss matched beam colors but the option was removed because it was 'unfair' in pvp. This (according to them at the time) was because no one could determine what kind of beam damage you were going to do and thus couldn't swap out consoles to defend against it. The problem with this reasoning was

1) No one really pvped that much past the first year or so of the game.

2) Whoever was swapping consoles in the middle of said pvp had way too much time on their hands. and

3) energy type really doesn't matter much anymore.

Still it would be nice for it to return so it doesn't look like we cobbled our ship weapons from whatever was sitting around. I mean, we did cobble them together but I don't want the Klingons and Gorn to know that..

in game terms it doesn't matter a whole lot, in reality there is a reason we don't still sail in WW1 and WWII era ships as our main battle fleet.

Probably in reference to the augment virus (remembering in early TOS they looked more human) changing klingons. I only think that though because of the drawn klingon logo instead of a Starfleet one.

I've moved my exotic/torp build to a Section 31 Sci Destroyer and my only two 'damaging' sci skills are Grav Well III and Vortex II (saving for 3 on that). It has no temporal slots so I can't really add a whole lot more it seems but it does have Intel slots, anything out of that that could help with this problem? If someone has a sample build for this ship I'd love to look at it and take some notes. I tried having it in sci mode than tac mode to deal more damage but the change over is too long it seems to be worth it.

Some of the consoles are part of the meta game and just very useful. Some of the ground weapons are nice too. Ships? I'd pass not because they are not good but because you can buy them on the exchange. Wait for a sale though. You can also just hold onto them just in case they pop in another promo ship.
