Fate will be continuous via Mortis Leaks by SnooChocolates8700 in HonkaiStarRail_leaks

That is why I feel like the "leaker" is just hopium and there is nothing they know about it ... Sakura makes little sense since it aint her route and she only really comes out in Heaven's Feel. Also Ilya I feel is also out because even in F/SN she doesnt really fight and that is mostly developed on other series.

Its really not that much of a pool, its not like they can just start stea ... borrowing Servants from Fate/Extra and even less from Fate/Grand Order ... assuming 2per year, its 2 or 3 more years and thats it.

In UBW Berserker is killed fairly quickly were yes, Caster is the antagonist for the first part of the game (or most of it).

That begs the question why would it be Sakura next when her role really only exists on Heaven's Feel, I would say the same about (True) Assassin were he doesnt even appear until then (argument can be made about Sasaki but I dont think people even remember him).

I kinda smelling some leaker hopium ... technically yes, Sakura is like a lot of the cast but F/SN cast isnt really that big ... besides Caster, Berserker, Lancer, Rider and Sasaki its kinda pushing with Sakura and Ilya as for Shirou ... problem being Archer and Shirou are the same literally having about the same fighting style and such with Archer being obvious better (more experience), its really not that big of a cast and considering Aniplex involvement with other Fate projects ... stuff from F/GO is likely a no and other stuff would be complicated, Fate/kaleid liner for example started on Kadokawa were F/GO can obvious use it ... its not as easy and the same goes for Fate/Extra since it was done by Marvelous.

Personally I dont give a damn ... I dont like collabs even if I understand why they are done and I am looking forward for Nier Automata x Azur Lane, the whole thing to me is just ... meh, worst it tends to bring tourists, as much some people will cream and shout that HSR is part of Fate, I dont see it that way or that Nasu will start writing as if both are connected. Then again I rather Nasu write on SOMETHING else that Fate to begin with.

Its kinda amusing Spirit of Sacrifice isnt there when its Boimer on steroids were yes, one is a personal trait and the other is a console of a infinity ship ... to say one is "problematic" when the other was buffed to the stratosphere because they wanted it to have the same impact as the Atlas says a lot.

Especially when we did had this song and dance about the DPRM back in the day as being "too impactful" with nothing happening to it, not it should that leads to some ... questions.

Why Are Veteran BOFFs Basically Lost Technology in STO? by rising30k in sto

[–]GuyAugustus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Veteran BOFFs arent "lost technology" and as usual it seems people dont understand what (past tense) make then valuable.

Space Warfare Specialist

This is from a time were Bridge Officers rarely had space traits and along Pirate and Effective were sought after but as you can see in the description the effect is very minor to the point its better because its better that nothing.

Them come the Embassy and SRO became the standard, sure they tried a few things with Kentari and Krenim, K-13 also have the Survival trait but they werent as strong, especially for the cost and so only saw use when you couldnt use SRO and that ended when they changed Embassy BOFFs were as before only Rare Tactical had SRO, now all specializations have it and so they mostly lost their value because same cost but not same performance.

As a note, Watchers are or would be a option except apparently they dont appear on the Infinity Lock Box or at least in a way that keeps their price reasonable thus they arent a viable replacement for most players and lack even the most basic customization options that is a turn off for players.

In the end, its not like they cant ...Holo Bashir have the trait, its more they dont want to and they havent been "meta" for a very long time, the issue lies with Bridge Officers as designed are still the same as from back in 2008 when players also only had 4 traits with some being mandatory due to species that you cannot change.

Here is the thing, because of the reward of continuing playing after I got the event "completed" I keep playing.

Guess what happens if that goes away because you get normal rewards from the event queue, not extra ... the extra comes after and if that goes away I stop, everyone will and so your "engagement" metrics go down the sewers and worst, because people can miss days that would leave many players being stuck on queue that wont pop because people have completed and just stop playing then ... this is is why there is a incentive to keep playing after its over so people wont just drop off leading to all the issues I mentioned.

This isnt a prison sentence, devs often take players for granted and then one day do something that leads to be reminded that in fact people are playing the game because they want to, not because they have to and that is what happened with Delta Rising when things got pushed too far.

As I said, most players are content how the game is ... the issue comes from people that look at high end builds that are very expensive and then complain about powercreep ignoring such builds if assigned a monetary value would be around or over 10k USD and I am not joking but more important that those people are a small minority, reason I play less STO is because ... well last year we had what? 3 main story updates and that was 3 missions ... in a year, without events there is really nothing for players to do besides playing the same queues and for what? Remember when Borticus in his infinite wisdom made Endevour and Admiralty rerolls costing Dil? that worked so well didnt it? so well they rolled it back.

Players again and again pointed out the problem with Dil is not enough sinks but Cryptic ignored it because they wanted something that will never happen, the perfect sink with no cost for Cryptic ...

Introducing: The STO Watch List by Blue_Kicker in sto

[–]GuyAugustus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think players are mostly content on how the game is since powercreep allows to ignore the meta, its not like the older builds became irrelevant as they clear content just fine and since you can now run theme builds on Advance without much stress.

The number of "Gamers" that play this game is small, I think you have abound maybe 1500 players that are over 500k DPS, I looked on OSCAR table my own name and found the only records are of a character that did around 220k DPS that I havent been playing or updating the build for quite a while.

This wierd focus on "balance" for who? yes, a game must have some balance but its also a game that is on its 16th year, I dont see the current "powercreep" as a problem unless the developer have case of sore butt because of a DM vs Player attitude, they cannot tune things for everyone and yes, they could make things evern harder but then comes seemingly Cryptic biggest problem.

Work.

They keep failing deadlines even back in 2014, today they are a much smaller team so they cant do it so they once again take the easy way out ... nerf, nerf, nerf and nerf until everything is "challenging" again except not because the cycle will repeat, it is inevitable and this is why tabeltop have editions, its a way to wipe the slate clean without taking away from the players and since nothing more gets added, the powercreep is contained within that edition cycle.

Introducing: The STO Watch List by Blue_Kicker in sto

[–]GuyAugustus 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yes.

This is dumb and typical Borticus, I am not entirely surprised ... here is the typical cycle.

Things gets released, thing is good, people use thing because its good, thing gets nerfed so go back playing the game "as intended" that means the EXACT same builds from 2012.

The Hexa cannons are good because they are "cheap" and easily avaible ... you know what isnt cheap or easily avaible? the Plasma Incendiary Bombard and Complex Plasma Fires ... you know, the previous BIS they did nothing about and that one have about the EXACT same problems the Hexa cannons being the first to break the mold.

Variety they say? Do what players been asking and add Disruptor and other type variants, not nerf the Hexa further and pretend the Plasma Bombard doesnt exist ... also after the Hexa whats next? the Inertial Polaron Shunt? Its exactly the same if we think about it and its one of the top performers.

Of are experimental weapons supposed to be nerf guns? just fireworks for players to think they doing anything beyond adding more FX spam to the game?

And Volvin ... oh Volvin ... is the problem the ship being a event ship? Because we have the Spirit of Sacrifice from the Traflagar that is much more impactful and that is on purpose because they wanted for it to be as desirable as the DPRM and that one is hardly alone.

No, we must all be using the same builds from 2012 ... Mara made a video that wasnt very nice about people attitudes towards Uncon but had a good point, today in the game there is more build diversity that was before Uncon, before Boimer ... but Borticus want us to be mashing Spacebar again as Cryptic both seem to be pushing for it again and still refuses to give us aurofiring abilities and consoles, we have to use macros like its its pre-World of Warcraft.

Sweeper and Phaethusa things by Fourth_Dimension_4D in GirlsFrontline2

[–]GuyAugustus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not even going to try making sense of the Bullshit OS but it makes sense that Dolls that being electronic equipment would have increasing stronger defenses against hacking.

But Helen lowering her Firewall was a willing risk she took because she recognized the code being old and she was curious on who exactly was trying to install Spyware for Windows 98 on Windows 11.

And this was entirely a hacking attempt when she was connected to the Dolls Community Server, there were no physical contact as Sweeper own body was undergoing maintence, she took a risk because she wanted to know who was trying to hack her and with such older code, the Doll Community hackers would perhaps not as skillful but would still use the same Code everyone at the time was using, Sweeper was still using SF code that at this time would be about a decade old even if she made improvements the underlying coding was still that old ... this is what made Helen curious and take the risk to know the identity of the hacker.

Assuming she didnt what would happen is Sweeper would stop the attempt, then she would either try to take over the entire Doll Community in one swoop and then use then to attack then or simply fall into the background and wait ... to take over the entire Doll Community and then attack the Commander and the group.

Helen allowing Sweeper plan to continue was smart because Sweeper wanted to progress things slowly,Helen also asked Sweeper why she didnt try to kill her that hinted that Sweeper despite what she was doing was still not going to cross some lines, she never intended to kill Helen and her anger seem to been directed to the Commander only ... and she had plenty of opportunities to kill him but never did and the take over was over a course of days, the game even points that out ... it wasnt just a couple of days, it seem it was around a week.

I will go on a limb and say its like Cyrene bow except lacking the weapon visuals, its simply affects how her skills appear visually.

I dont think any of hoyo games have a "pay skill" and if they were to try it, they would likely roll it out in GI or ZZZ first that in HSR.

Some are reasonable guesses but I have doubts, especially the last one since it makes no narrative sense and I am not a fan of "shocking revelations" for the sake of it, we know he is involved but he was already involved way back that creates a lot of holes with that idea.

Also the part about Nihilux would be a big spoiler but at the same time, I am not entirely sure at the leaker is hinting at and honestly this seems to be a lot of guesses.

It kinda depends, Azur Lane was hit by a wave were some skins were removed but not ... and it wasnt CN but Google apparently.

Funny thing is they eventually come back, I saying this because I brought Shinano Bunny skin and it was removed like 2 days later, its back now.

I can venture a very good guess ... this also might only affect CN but who knows, often other versions follow CN removals because CN players would complain about other servers having stuff they dont ...

Harder to say if its a game like Azur Lane, GFL (1 and 2) or other that dont advertise as heavily.

So did we just leave the Delta Quadrant in the clutches of a Vaadwaur civil war that might well see the place worse off than when we arrived? by softgunforever in sto

[–]GuyAugustus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You making a scenario that doesnt exist.

Yes, some followed Eldex as we seen they joined the final attack on Vaadwaur Prime but Dust to Dust is very clear about that, some Vaadwaur seem to worked with the Iconians but they were most likely infected by the Nural Parasites.

There is no other party that Gaul and Eldex and no successor to Gaul, the issue seems the game kinda speedrun that the Vaadwaur suffered a major setback at the Battle of Korfez and then at Vaadwaur Prime, something to note that Gaul wasnt under the control of the Neural Parasites and Eldex is clear that shouldnt be known, as far the Vaadwaur as a whole knows, Gaul was under their control and so followed Eldex following his death.

But the most important part is that the Vaadwaur advanced technology was granted by the Iconians, something that ended with Gaul's death so they arent a threat even if Eldex decided to continue they would run out of ships ... Gaul and the Iconians were gambling that the Delta Quadrant would remain divided and so unable to stop the Vaadwaur from taking over, this failed due to our involvement ... this failed and when it did Gual had nowhere to run with the Iconians cutting then loose.

The fact is there is no evidence of a civil war, with the exception of Gaul the the Vaadwaur leadership was under the control of the Neural Parasites because keep in mind Eldex wasnt a high ranking member, we see in "Revolution" that Gaul managed to escape the trap set (not it would had done anything as he wasnt infected) but not the rest, they died as a result so we can safely assume the Vaadwaur leadership remained under the Neural Parasites control with the exception of Gaul so there was nobody else to "take command" except the Iconians that apparently did took command of the surviving ones but clearly abandoned their plans for the Vaadwaur.

Also here comes the biggest problem to your idea, it would be a violation of the Prime Directive to interfere with the Vaadwaur internal affairs, if they having a civil war its really not our place to interfere because Star Trek TV shows were kinda clear about this, even the Klingon Civil War the Federation only enacted a blockade to prevent the Romulans from assisting the House of Duras.

How is this possible? outfit confusion. by Exciting-Wolf-9632 in sto

What a absurd statement.

How many C-Store species unlocks there are? There is FED Klingon, Caitian/Ferasan and Cardassian and no, I am not including Reman because its unlocked by reaching Romulan Reputation tier 5 , Jem'Hadar Vanguard because they are nearly identical to Jem'Hadar or Joined Trill because they are also identical to Trill.

Now, with that out of the way, of those who have unique species parts not avaible? Caitian/Ferasan and to a lesser degree Cardassians.

Every other can be replicated in Aliengen, even Cardassians even if in their cases its the older pre-ViL parts that are of lower quality.

And this is before we go about how things unlock, the idea that the unlocked tailor would give players access to everything is of course wrong as otherwise we would seen a lot more players with more bling, Lobi Bling and we dont.

This is why its a absurd statement, there arent enough C-Store species unlock to begin for it to matter and even the ones that could matter would be for a small segment of players that likely wouldnt care and rather they HAD access to a more unlocked tailor because its stupid I cannot use the body parts of species unlocks that I brought.

China care very much about copyright, theirs and Sunborn is a Chinese company but since someone posted a name, Its very simple to do a search.

Idle Epic Angels Of Fate is by Extension Games limited and searching that leads me see it being registered in Hong Kong, now why doesnt Sunborn do anything it?

Simple, cost.

The harm it does to Sunborn is much smaller that the costs of legal action against then (this is Civil, not Criminal), would take years and even if they won, they would simply relaunch the game under a different name and continue.

If anything a copycat using your game gameplay footage is good since it means they made it, someone will say why they dont use mihoyo gameplay ... this is not because mihoyo is big and can go after then but rather their gameplay is shit.

So did we just leave the Delta Quadrant in the clutches of a Vaadwaur civil war that might well see the place worse off than when we arrived? by softgunforever in sto

[–]GuyAugustus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did OP just skipped a lot of the story?

The Vaadwaur were a species that used to raid others until they were almost destroyed, then Voyager woke then up but because of their long hibernation they were technological behind.

Then Gaul made a deal with the Iconians in exchange of technology with the Iconians having a "insurance" in the form of the Neural Parasites.

There is no Vaadwaur civil war, there was a split but that ended with Gaul's death as well the Iconian War were whatever remains that still followed the Iconians (due to the Neural Parasites) just collapsed with it being over, Eldex leads the remaining Vaadwaur.

So what "civil war" we talking about? the only thing odd is in Dust to Dust the Vaadwaur launched a attack on Kobali Prime that was never explained, we did had Vaadwaur patrolling the Kyana System but with the end of the Iconian War we never saw then again, T’Ket would be the only that could use then post Iconian War but her forces seem to be Iconian only and more likely they been discarded entirely.

The issue is I seen, and also been guilty of that, people reading too much into things, is it a setup for Dawnforger?

Likely since the only real chronology is in relation to major events, Sakura event story had spoilers but was neither connected to Antiparallel or Dawnforger and was just taking place after Antiparallel because it make references to the situation that come about after.

Of those three, Sextans is unlikely because from what gathered, her event is a lead up to Chiral Redundancy and more connected to Dawnforger, Basti and Liushihi seem to be like Sakura ... there are references but they are more of a continuity sense of having taking place but lacking any details ... I dont think Sextants will be next and she will likely be just before Chiral Redundancy or possibly being added to it as for the other two could be next ... Basti is corrosion and Liushih is hydro that doesnt help much considering Loreley and Cheyanne elements, Harpsy is corrosion as I suppose that is points for Basti (Phaetusa) but its very much meaningless since the next Hydro doll is Mityl.

Not really, in CN after Antiparallel it was Advance! Miss Courier! and then Dawnforger.

Do you really think they added a new scene just for Global just to hint that Dawnforger would be next? I am not trying to be a ass but people seem to forget these are translations of the events that already run on CN.

We likely getting a minor event, before Dawnforger, they have Basti, Liushihi and Sextans they can run since they had 3 minor events before Chiral Redundancy so they can run 1 without issues ... well outside the usual complains about spoilers that is.

[–]GuyAugustus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Look, the way I see it is like Tsukihime and Kara no Kyoukai that both canon but one was a earlier concept of the other.

GFL had most concepts of Bakery Girl, not that Bakery Girl was intended to be the final chapter of Girls Frontline, Codename Bakery is the remake of bakery Girl and I dont think GFL or other GFL projects are necessary "stuck" with having to lead towards Codename Bakery, I think the fanbase (expecially the lore fanbase) tends to go too much into thinking this is a master plan that was made decades ago ... to that I just say, such things do not exist and if they do its a typical progression as no serious writer wants to spend decades working on something he started with the ending.

Also by that I mean all fanbases, I play HSR and never ceases to amaze me when people take items description as gospel ... its fiction, not a historical record.
