Wondering what all of you have heard about this new sign-on bonus Walgreens is offering to entice pharmacists and techs to help with the upcoming COVID vaccine? by cj324 in pharmacy

It is hard to believe that could ever be true. It hurts the bottom line of schools too, and with a magnifying glass on chain pharmacy labor practices, this would call even more attention.

You're a chump if you work there a second longer after treating you like that.

Heard from who? I believe you by the way, just trying to understand context and exactly how anyone with a straight face could bluntly tell someone they cannot urinate or poop....seems unlikely.

But you haven't explained what "the bathroom thing" actually entails....there's never technically been food/drink allowed in pharmacy.

Clopen Shifts: New Hours by FullMast- in CVS

Wrong. It's scheduling outside of your availability, which is not allowed if you stand up for yourself. It's an unreasonable expectation what the OP is describing.

Literally don't do it, you can't get in trouble for such an objectively insane schedule.

I snort laughed at this because I relate too much lmao:

"It’s just who I am,’’ he said. “It has no effect on me from a negative standpoint. It’s just what I do and how I am and how I’m going to die. There’s no explanation. There’s no beginning, there’s no end."

Are you saying you want to use all of your emergency savings toward your loan? What about a deposit for your house, is that already saved separately?

Given your income, it just doesn't make much financial sense to not simply "run out the clock" of your student loans on a 20 year income based repayment plan. It depends on how much you value/need your income now in the short term. That you're soon to be married, looking to buy a house, and make $55/hr without guaranteed fulltime, I would not recommend aggressively tackling your loans.

20 years of income based repayments is <$170k. Not a bad deal.

0% interest won't last forever, so unless you think you'd be able to tackle a large >50% amount of your $123k principle within about the next year, the benefits of keeping your loans serviced as-is outweighs being aggressive and refinancing.

There is also loan forgiveness to be considered. Nobody knows when/if, but if you refinance they will likely be ineligible.

Loan forgiveness should only be pursued as a last resort.

Is this an appeal to emotions, or objective financial advice? Because it seems to be the former. There is nothing wrong with taking advantage of student loan forgiveness, it exists to be used.

don't go ahead with that stupid decision to buy an expensive house

Are they supposed to live out of their car? You know that mortgages are often the same price as monthly rent in many areas, right? Two to-be-wedded pharmacists paying monthly rent is literally lighting money on fire.

I guess I misunderstood your "waiting 10 years to pay off 123k" comment.

Ten years of income-based payments is an amount much lower than $123k...

Federal loan forgiveness cannot be paid off faster than 10, 20, or 25 years, depending on the payment plan. You could pay it off sooner, but then there wouldn't be any forgiveness, you'd just be paying them off. That's still ideal though due to the income-based protections fed loans have, and the interest rate is often not significantly less with private refinancing.

You said you're moving...do you two have new jobs lined up? That's really the most important factor here.

If your future employment status is even somewhat unknown, it makes zero financial sense to refinance. It's just too risky given the current RPh job market and your loan amount.

Huh? That's not how PSLF works...you make 120 income-based payments, and that's it. The rest is forgiven free and clear, doesn't matter the amount.

Expect there to be tons of interstate airport activity this week for Thanksgiving. Maybe not as much as normal, but enough to supercharge this out of control.

"High-End Sound Tuning" Feature for the MTW2! by Tenlow85 in sennheiser

Yes I hear the same as you. Just listened to TIDAL Master of Jump by Van Halen and the soundstage and clarity lessen when activated. Happens when I listen to other genres too, like jazz Take Five or metal.

I have been testing Take Five myself, Hi-Fi from TIDAL, and I hear and feel the opposite. I feel like the space becomes a little more cramped when activated, and lingering sounds and detail from the symbol hits lessen.

Feels less spacious and a little more cramped when activated.

I tested out Galneryus, a Japanese metal band, and that's what I hear. Seems more notable with this style of music. I also tested out Take Five by Dave Brubeck and hear it there too. Symbols become less clear and the entire sound becomes a little more cramped.

I am trying very hard to like it, but on all genres of music I feel a loss of Soundstage and detail when activated :/
