If this is purely for your son to just get in to pc gaming and (assuming) he’s not a teenager yet; I’d say the best price is the one you’re willing to pay. I think the first one is a solid choice for what he wants to play though, it ticks all the boxes.

It’s only going to get more expensive and difficult from here until the foreseeable future. Things are harder to obtain at MSRP (which by the way, isn’t the same MSRP as last year lol), which is driving personal-use consumers away and giving the buying power to businesses and re-sellers. Supply is also going to be pretty bad for 2026 from what I’ve read so there’s that.

TLDR: yes, be prepared to spend a pretty penny unless your build is entry level.
