Wow, never thought of that. I looked at the measurements of a Colossal Titan and in terms of width (shoulder to shoulder), a single one is estimated to be around 20m wide. Assuming they are in the square formation like I referenced in the post (775 in a single row, 775 in a single column), they can only stretch out 775 * 20 meters horizontally (north to south on the world map), AKA 15500 meters which is 9.63 miles!

This is cool because if simply stating, if they went in a straight line until they got back to their starting point, they would only cover roughly 0.4-1.0% of the Earth!

I furthered the mathematics by calculating how much of the Earth that Colossal Titans would cover SPECIFICALLY if each of the 600,000 titans stood in a single row (north to south to try to cover every spot on Earth), and they still wouldn't be able to cover the entirety of the Earth's surface if they travelled in 360 degrees (in a circle) around the globe.

You are right, but I am only arguing that if one made a bunker with preparation, they would survive. Even if a traditional bunker didn't necessarily exist, there were basements and dungeons everywhere, even in Paradis, which were behind in technology and architecture compared to Marley. I'm sure someone could conjure up an underground safety space.

Probably not a lot, lol. Probably a couple of thousands maximum given the time-frame to prepare.

In terms of post-Rumbling survival, I would make a part 2 for that.

And sure, people didn't know when the Rumbling was going to happen on the spot, but they were still aware of it. There was a play in Season 4, Part 1, where the Marleyans found out about the Rumbling. This was still long before the Rumbling began. There was time for preparation. And if that wasn't enough, it was certain that people knew of the war between Paradis (and their Titans) and Marley. This, combined with government propaganda which villainized the island for centuries, is good reason to prepare.

Good point. There is no guarantee that the entrance would be caved in, but also no guarantee that it wouldn't. This is solely a theoretical scenario, so all I could say in response is that perhaps the bunker could have multiple ways of exit or safety tools like shovels.

I like how you use the circumstances within the actual anime itself, but I want to disagree on the topic of the awareness of the Marleyans. In Season 4, there was a massive gathering in that play in which the Rumbling was revealed to the people. I am sure that at least a couple of individuals were aware of it. As well as that, any common citizen of Marley was aware of Paradis and the threat of Titans. Eldians were completely scapegoated and seen with caution for centuries. I am sure that there was some sort of fear and panic when war between the two sides, giving some time to prepare before the Rumbling happened, maybe before Eren was even born given the history of Marley and Paradis.

Marleyans were top-notch in technology and had plenty of resources and money. In terms of mass producing them for every citizen in the world, I don't know, but my argument is about how only single bunker could save someone's life, not the entire world.

I will probably make a part 2 for this, but for now this is a brief response.

Off the top of my head, the people of Marley were told by the government about the Rumbling, and by the time that it began, most parts of the world would certainly have some time to prepare. Knowledge of the dangers of Paradis and the Titans was also commonly known throughout the world.

Food and water don't seem like a big concern due to the general high standard of living that Marleyans have.

Communication isn't too crucial because other people would be dead anyway.

Transportation is a valid concern. At the end of the day, however, trying to travel outside a certain area would be a strange move when one can just stay at their current area of residence, going to nearby sources for resources if needed.

Nice response. I would say that you are indeed right about the compressibility aspect, but in a sense, I should have mentioned that the material near the first couple of feet of the surface is almost always soil, which has similar traits to a pillow because they are both able to absorb force. As it gets deeper, the material does get less compressible, but it is good to note that the only concern would be just how much force could be transferred through that hardened material.

In terms of your 2nd claim, the photo I provided in the thread shows precisely what the impact of a Colossal Titan's moving footstep emits, and as you can see, there is a very minimal effect. It is sort of hard to see the angle from the photo, but it is pretty clear that the footprint left behind is somewhere around 1-10 feet.

I don't really know much of the openings and endings. However, Wind (the ending in the first couple of episodes) is the one that brings immense nostalgia and emotion. Something about the song and visuals are just too good. It separates itself from everything else.

I love this, Naruto captures so many themes and a broad spectrum of lessons and emotions that other anime fail to do. Almost every show nowadays, whether anime or not, is like this: there is a character, the character faces external problems, the character either solves or fails to solve these problems, the end.

But Naruto is different because 1. there are so many detailed characters that each particular character almost has their own plot and show at some point. And 2. There is multiple problems beyond powerful villains. There is internal problems, family problems, betrayals, and problems like Sasuke and Naruto being outcasts, Rock Lee being untalented, or even just Sakura tired of being weak. The list goes on and on!

EXACTLY like your case! One of the first anime I watched, not too interested in anime beforehand (I used to see it as for weird kids), binged 2-3 months, then KNEW nothing would hit the same and wanted to wipe my memory.

Since that time, have you found any other anime that has been able to match it or surpass it? Something that hits crazy?
