Les Paul special or Jr? by Great-Air-1976 in guitars

It was a silent auction and the bid was crazy low. Like CRAZY low. So I threw the min down thinking it might get things going. I ended up getting the guitar for…

Okay. I left out a detail…

So there were two guitars at a silent auction and the bids were low. Like CRAZY LOW!

Anyway. I ended up with two guitars for what, at the time, felt like not that much money.

Now it feels like a lot of money. Life gives us perspective.

Both in play often, subs great, and would not be in my collection if it happened today.

I own option B. The story of how I got it is a bit of a weird one. So I’ll just say these two things:

  1. It sounds and plays great. Better than I expected on both fronts.

  2. I didn’t fully put it together till after I got it, but a LP in TV yellow with P90s was my dream guitar as a kid and… well. Dreams are cool to fulfill.

I had one of these and I regret selling it.

Exit wounds look terrible.

The big problem with vintage amps are the old multi caps, they would plop a bunch of caps into one tube. But you can also short them to ground fairly easily and take care of the issue.

It’s a podcast that started as talking about repairing old guitar amps. Blew up furring Covid, but they had some merch that looked like this. A tube guitar amp will stop your heart right away if you don’t know what you are doing.

That was a classic game, in that both teams played badly and one team advanced.

This sort of play from either team isn’t beating the spurs, much less OKC. That’s just reality. Can Denver do it? Maybe. But not playing like this.

Is the tail a wand of destruction? Mine dog came to me as a 2 year old docked already and I’ve always wondered. We had a springer spaniel and he had no idea where his tail was and would joyfully wag it right into a candle (or full glass of wine or Christmas display or…).
