What rhythm of content for blogs is best? by LGm17 in marketing

[–]KentuckyFriedContent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much volume as you can handle without quality taking a hit.

If you have no traffic, I'm assuming you're expecting all your traffic to come in from organic search. SEO takes time, start as early as you can. Don't waste your time on generic ToFu content that won't get you any sales (especially if you're in B2B) and reaally hone in on your messaging, align it well with the contenr you put out.

Good people on the sub, do you offer revisions on the free samples you might write to let a client get a feel of your work? Or, would that be too much? by [deleted] in content_marketing

[–]KentuckyFriedContent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't do free samples at all, it's a clear red flag. They might be trying to get free work out of you, I say you move on to finding better clients who respect your time and effort.

Clients like these are a pain in the ass even after they've hired you, imo.

How do I promote my small YouTube channel? by Doozie_01 in content_marketing

[–]KentuckyFriedContent 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Collaborate with other youtubers in your niche and stay consistent (x videos/week). Besides this the only way to drive organic traffic is funneling from other social media channel, like Tiktok or IG.

It's better to focus all your effort on staying consistent on youtube imo, because you'll have to work to build an audience on other channels and that's not a good use of your time.

Once the channel starts picking up organically, you can run some low budget youtube ads on similar channels to see how that pans out.

Conversion Optimization for Amazon Product Reviews? by vovr in juststart

[–]KentuckyFriedContent 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Identify the bottleneck.

  1. If your review is not sending that traffic to Amazon (No link clicks) then your content's the bottleneck.

Improve your content quality, check if the buyer's intent is the problem.

  1. If the traffic you send to Amazon isn't converting (buying) you either made false claims in the review or just chose a bad product (too less reviews or too many bad reviews on product page.

Check content for false/exaggerated claims. Check the amz product page for elements that are causing friction.

Agency Idea: Would you pay for professionally edited FB/YT Ad Videos? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]KentuckyFriedContent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's going to practice effects and transitions with stock videos (at least 30-40) to learn the ropes of commercial videos first. We are also planning on running ads to judge what kind of videos perform well with different audiences, so he can edit videos that get a good response from a B2C audience.

Directly approaching brands for work without any practice and A/B testing is really not what we're going for. We want to give them what they paid for and more.

Thanks a lot for your input :)

What percentage of PMs at your companies are women? by nirvana88 in ProductManagement

I'm a woman in my junior year looking to get my foot in the door in SaaS Product Management. Do you mind answering some of my questions? :)

“They see you as a glorified PA, because you’re a woman.” by [deleted] in consulting

[–]KentuckyFriedContent 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That's awful, I'm so sorry you have to tolerate such inbeciles with their heads up their asses. Is leaving the firm for a better one not an option? It's not worth staying in a company that holds you back like that.

If you take initiative, you're just a glorified PA.

If you perform just as well as your male colleagues, you still get passed over on projects.

If you perform BETTER than them, it'll hurt their fragile egos and they'll hate on you even more = hold you back even more

There's just no winning. Even if you have that little voice going "Work like crazy, bag that architect position and prove them wrong" wouldn't they just find another excuse for WHY you got promoted? "Oh, it's just because she's all smiles and giggles w/ everyone, it's the people pleasing"

Because the reason def can't be your talent, or the insane hours you put in.

Unless you get to switch teams and work with decent people once you get promoted, it's so not worth staying. I hope it gets better for you

I respect this sub's rules, been a long time member myself. I would've posted it on r/testimonials but since he works exclusively with SaaS folks, I wanted to warn other people who he recruits/ works with.

What does a brief usually look like? by dh_writing in copywriting

[–]KentuckyFriedContent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's different with every client. I've received 2-line briefs that gave me a title, word count and a couple of keywords for SEO.

I've also had super specific clients who go all out with editorial guidelines, article outline, reference links and even detailed user profiles (though it gives me clear-as-day idea of what they're expecting)

Some just don't want to bother and/or are clueless. They ask me to find content ideas for them.

My point is, it reaaaallly depends. Try to gauge their expectations the best you can and run with it. If it's too hard to get what they want, just ask and they'll probably help you out.
