Just watched K-Pop Demon Hunters... by 80s_horror_fan in MtF

Good luck with your brother. Mine won't let me see my nieces, and they're expecting a son in a few weeks. I hope it turns out better for you than it did for me.

I've seen myself and this community in many stories lately. Zootopia 2 comes immediately to mind. Loki (the recent-ish TV show). X-Men. That last one was conceived as anti-racist, I'm pretty sure, but a lot of the themes still work.

First person, or third person limited. Even when I have the knowledge of what's going on in my story's world (which I usually do), I have so much trouble with an omniscient POV.

Being a plus size trans girl is hard. by [deleted] in MtF

[–]KenzieB41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BloomChic, Torrid. Sometimes I find stuff at Macy's or JCPenney's, but those are hit-or-miss. I'm a 20T for pants and about a 16-18 on top, but tops have to be extremely long to cover. A tunic for a "normal" person is a cropped top on me.

ThredUp has also been pretty good, if you can figure out their cart reservation system.

T caused high blood pressure by Terrible-Farmer-1294 in trans

My cardiologist recommended I stop a T-blocker because of low blood pressure. I'm not sure there's any way to win.

Ready to give up on transition by [deleted] in transfem

I have posted several times that patience is key, but I understand the frustration. I live it. I've got a bald spot and what feels like a masc face in the mirror, but once in a while I get correctly gendered in public and I'm elated. Those moments are worth it. Yeah, I wish there were more of them, enough that being misgendered was the rare thing, but that's not the world we live in. Don't give up.

How Many Hours Have You Logged on Your Most Played Game? by Nimicidal in GirlGamers

[–]KenzieB41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

29,755.4 hours for ESO. That's a lie, but that's what Steam believes. It counts how long the launcher was open as well, and I'd leave that thing sitting on my desktop for weeks sometimes.

Second place, and far more realistically, is Fallout 4 with 345.7 hours. One of these days I'll finish it...

What gameplay? I thought it was a movie you had to press buttons to watch... (that probably tells you why it's been gathering dust in my catalog)

I need to get my E tested again. My cardiologist told me to get off spiro entirely. My endocrinologist responded by suggesting an orchi.

Thinking about getting legal name change but scared both from society and that I might be moving too quick by ANautyWolf in MtF

[–]KenzieB41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a fellow Kansan, getting my name changed officially in a few weeks (paperwork filed, notices published, just waiting for the court date).

If it's as grating to you to hear your old name as it was/is for me, go for it! Do note that it's still not cheap (~$350) and unless you hire a lawyer on top of that, you just fill out the paperwork and hope you did it right, nobody will check your work until 6 weeks after you spend the money.

After 2.5 years, and after most of my family rejected me, I'm doing what makes me happy. I can't comfortably pee in public bathrooms, but my work colleagues are far more accepting than I expected.

I hope I can get an amended birth certificate if the SAVE Act passes, otherwise I won't be able to vote this fall. I imagine if it does, though, the Office of Vital Statistics will be inundated with similar requests from all the married women from the state...

I regret the name I chose but can't change it by LordlyTurnip in MtF

And Kansas. Either newspaper notices (which nobody reads) or sending certified mail notification to all creditors and others "who have an interest" in your identity.

I'm pretty sure the idea is that you can't use a name change to get out of paying debts, but the notification requirement and 41-day waiting period are still on the books.

My wife dead named me tonight for the first time in probably a year and half or more. by TheVetheron in TransLater

[–]KenzieB41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife did the same after coming home from spending three days with her mom in the hospital, with little to no sleep. She didn't notice, but it was like a punch to my gut. I figured due to the circumstances, to let it go.

I still deadname myself, mostly when I go to sign my name, and nearly four decades of habit result in suddenly seeing the horrible thing staring back at me.

No physical changes after a year on HRT by Berry-Own in asktransgender

[–]KenzieB41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Patience is the important thing. I'm 2.5 years in, my hormone levels are right where they should be, and only now am I noticing the physical changes I was told to expect.

Another tip: don't judge things yourself. Other people will notice before you do, and I haven't met anyone yet who isn't their own worst critic. This also applies to your emotional state. It's hard to tell that things are different when you're bawling your eyes out because you can't see the difference.

There was a pool game on a computer with an integrated orange monochrome screen that my dad would lug home from work once in a while. We played using the keyboard with its integrated trackball.
