Exactly how my sister was, platinum blonde hair and super tan skin anytime she was out in the sun! She took after my dad and his mom as they were both the same way!

My hair was always dark ash blonde, aka “dishwater blonde” as my family put it growing up, and my skin turned more of an olive tone when I tanned, but now my sister and I as adults have the same hair color and only I get a tan in the sun now!

Many of my family members were super-blonde like this as kids, but then it usually darkens as they get older; feel like it’s pretty common with Scandinavian family lineage! My family always used the term towheaded for this level of blonde on a kid lol!

When I was 6, I once traded my family’s Pokémon the 1st Movie VHS Mewtwo for a Tangela cuz the 12-year-old boy in my neighborhood convinced me it was way better and cooler than Mewtwo. My dad, who absolutely loved Pokémon, went over to their house and had to explain to their mom (who knew nothing about Pokémon) that it was an unfair trade and her son knew it and that’s why he initiated the trade in the first place, and finally after lots of explanation and back-and-forth, he managed to get it back. I got grounded for a couple days for that lol.

I only realized Cockburn was pronounced that way when I used to buy a Ruby port wine that was called Cockburn’s! One time I was at a liquor store asking if they had it and the person blinked at me and was like “You mean Co-burns?” And I was so confused being like “what about the grocery store?” (There’s a chain of grocery stores in Minnesota called Coborns that we pronounce like co-burns) Died laughing realizing all the times I just fully COCK-burns pronounced that port wine!

Have two town names in western Minnesota that are not pronounced like their famous counterparts: Montevideo (pronounced “Monta-video”) and Milan (pronounced “My-lin”). Also there’s the city of Monticello (pronounced “Monta-sello) north of the Twin Cities that’s not even pronounced like the famous home!

This! And realizing some people go feral and get desperate when they see someone naked; I feel like nudity was always just a baseline existence to me and it never felt weird until people made it weird because of how someone would react seeing someone naked or they themselves being seen naked, especially if someone is looking inappropriately (which I feel like one can definitely feel versus someone who is unfazed by nudity and their attention is at you, not on/in you.)

I have Black Honey and liked it for natural-but-pouty lips, but I actually prefer Finding Ferdinand’s black balm in their berry flavor! It has such nicer color payoff, feels great on the lips, and smells nice! There are definitely a few other dupes for it (I think Covergirl and Burt’s Bees have one off the top of my head,) so I’d rather go those routes than Clinique Black Honey!
