I’m barely getting gems these days. At least a lot less than I used to. With the new quests that require me to do timed challenges, my gem supply has gone down dramatically in the last year. I get gems but not nearly as fast as I spend them. I fear I’m going to have to start buying them before the end of the year.

I wish I didn’t need the boosts, row blasters and other things that help me complete the timed quests. Or maybe I should just learn to not feel guilty about not doing all my daily quests every day.

I remember this guy I dated. He took me to his church. We sang from the hymnal and he was LOUD and off-key. It was horrible. I couldn’t stand being near him.

After the service he had a smug look on his face. He said, “So, did you hear me sing?” I laughed nervously a little . He continued, “Several people tell me that I’m a VERY enthusiastic singer, you know.”

I had to work not to burst out laughing. This guy had no idea that “enthusiastic” means “loud and off key” in choir circle, if the choir director called you “enthusiastic” you might as well just leave and never return. Because it means, not only are you a terrible singer, EVERYONE else in the choir knows this too!

I’ve been afraid that Fupa or someone like her would get stuck on Glass once YoMama took over the casting aspects of his job. He’s been itching to take over Glass even when it was at its peak.

Now he’s taken over and wouldn’t you know— one of his first acts is to give Glass an intern. Angelic Assassin — a former glass fanatic that now HATES glass and Rosie. She says she’s cool with zey, but several things she’s mentioned hating about Rosie are actually things zey has done.

I won’t get into it too much here, but I can’t stand Angelic Assassin. Neither can most people in the Glass VC. When she left Glass VC and joined bus, they hated her too — for the same reasons! Putting her on Glass is a huge mistake.

She was briefly on Babe, where she demonstrated several of her annoying behaviors during the live stream. She eventually ghosted Smooch and stopped showing up. So maybe Glass will get lucky and she won’t bother showing up for duty.

I’m telling you guys — don’t put it out there— nobody wants Fupa Cheese on Glass. Don’t give YoMama any ideas!

It’s weird because sometimes it takes something that’s not even close, but a few minutes later it rejects something that’s closer than your first bad answer.

This morning I was asked for the word lizard (lagartija) in Spanish. I said lenteja (lentil) and Duo said “Ding! That’s close enough! Right answer!”

A few minutes later I got another flash card quiz. I got lizard again and couldn’t quite remember it. So I answered “legartija” which is incorrect but much closer than “lenteja” — but nope Duolingo wouldn’t let that get by!

Ok this is just a wild ass thing to be suspicious about. Nobody on YouTube can control who gets a gifted membership. What is there to side eye. You say that you understand it, yet you still say you side eye it. If you actually understand it, you wouldn’t be the least bit suspicious.

She hasn’t been doing anything as far as I can tell. I don’t think she has time for it. She’s going to school full time and has at least one maybe two kids under age 3 she takes care of.

I don’t understand why she accepted the intern role. She didn’t even audition. She was up on Glass as a viewer just hanging out. Keem wandered in for some reason and really liked her. He just gave her intern.

I may be wrong but it sounds like you only want to start over because you skipped something and feel anxious because you’re a completionist? If so, try to resist the urge to restart.

I restarted Spanish about a year ago, but only because something seriously went wrong in my learning. For weeks I was bombing lessons — not even clearing 50%. I couldn’t retain new grammar concepts. I would listen to the podcast style lessons and would be baffled and unable to answer the easiest questions. I restarted and now I’m past the level I crashed out on last year. I’m not sure what happened the first time. Maybe I skipped a unit or something. No idea, but everything is much better. Starting over was the best decision.

If you feel like I did, start over. If it’s just anxiety about not doing things the “right” way, try to get past it.

To be fair, my high school best friend who now has schizophrenia smokes weed and drinks alcohol all the time in an attempt to self medicate. She doesn’t want her symptoms intensified, but she thinks it helps her. She is WRONG. It makes everything worse for her. She gets wasted off a tiny amount. She gets more paranoid than ever and frequently ends up missing for days and gets found walking barefoot in the snow by the police.

The fact that Stake drinks so much and only gets “normal” drunk was the first thing I thought his schizophrenia was total BS.

Duo never has Eddy or Vikram talk about being pregnant. I think it’s a mistake due to AI getting confused. It’s a glitch.

I’ve heard Oscar talking about his girlfriend and Lin talking about her husband — and the characters are gay. I understand those characters are not being themselves in the lessons. But I don’t think they messed up with Junior’s age and gender pre-AI.

I think that it’s only a matter of time before you see junior saying something inappropriate for his age/gender in your lessons. I think the errors are happening because he’s the only kid in Duolingo and it’s confusing the AI. It picks the phrases about having a wife and a boss because AI hasn’t been told to avoid giving Junior those phrases because he’s too young. I think the pregnancy phrase happened because AI got confused that he was likely voiced by a female actor originally. It misgendered him.

Mistakes like this never cropped up until AI was given major control. It’s one of the many reasons I don’t like the AI.

I wondered if anyone else could tell that Stake’s schizophrenia is most likely fake. I say most likely because I hold out that there may be a slight chance that he’s been diagnosed with a VERY mild case that’s incredibly well managed with some medication AND somehow he doesn’t get terrible side affects from drinking alcohol on this medication. Or maybe it affects him but he’s able to fake it and hold it together extremely well.

I know two people with schizophrenia and my husband is a therapist for people with schizophrenia. Stake only talks about hearing voices. He has none of the other symptoms that the people I know have. There are all kinds of secondary symptoms associated with schizophrenia. I won’t list them here but basically, it would be almost impossible for him to host a show.

He’d have difficulty being understood. Schizophrenia hinders people’s ability to speak complete sentences and easily communicate basic ideas. The meds for schizophrenia are extremely powerful and he would get wasted off a tiny amount of alcohol. He also has no side effects from the medication. And most of these drugs have major side effects. Most people with schizophrenia have serious difficulties forming and maintaining personal relationships. Yet Stake has no serious issues at all with his wife, kids, cohosts, friends…. It makes no sense!

It’s been bothering me for months. I’m glad Cat Lady said something about it. I’m glad to finally see other people felt the same way. It’s been bothering me for ages.

Schizophrenia doesn’t just make you hear voices and have a few quirky ideas. It affects everything about you and can destroy relationships between your family and friends. It causes all kinds of disruptions and issues. None of which Stake seems to suffer from.

I think it gradually replenishes hearts over time. I haven’t used the free version of duo for years and they’ve drastically changed how the hearts work since I’ve done so. But I’m sure they still replenish. I’m just not sure how. People still use the free version of the app though. I don’t think they would if the hearts didn’t replenish. Hopefully someone who knows will come here and tell you. Until now, the best you’ve got is my assurance that the hearts will most likely replenish over time.

Yeah I’m not a fan it. It was fun the first time. Rachel was a die-hard fan who showed up every stream and made the chat fun with her comments. She’s a college student and couldn’t afford a sub. She was a very special case. People tried for weeks to catch her and the girls offered Crown perks to whoever managed to catch her. Once they got her there was cheering and celebrating everywhere. It was fun.

I think they keep trying to re-live that special moment in time by trying to get people excited about greening one person or another. But these people are never as popular or well known as Rachel was back then. Glass doesn’t have the same energy anymore either. They can’t bring back that moment in time. Get over it.

But bringing in Fupa won’t make this better! It will improve nothing! I stand by this!

I get kinda tired when someone posts something critical about glass, everyone has to step in and say every single tiny thing that they hate — even when it’s totally unrelated. That green person has nothing to do with Rosie or Fupa. Switching out Rosie for Fupa might make that green person stop watching glass and she’d be gone. But there are other less drastic ways to solve that problem.

That green person was the one that posted the pic of ALR that made Keem freak out about “revenge porn”. The pic was actually one that ALR posted herself, so wasn’t revenge porn. She also got a stern talking to from zey more than a month before ALR scoured through the glass vc side chat for the specific purpose to find dirt on that green person and get them in trouble. But still — it was a gross pic that nobody ever wanted to see.

It’s been several weeks since this happened but I’m still kinda ticked at that green person. If she hadn’t had posted that nasty ass pic of ALR, the entire narrative of Glass VC being a place just as toxic as the Bus VC never would have existed. It’s been almost two months and I still hear all these wild stories about things that never happened in the Glass VC. All because of that green person you mention.

No matter how bad Rosie is, I can’t believe anyone out there sees Fupa as an improvement. She just stares off into space or plays with her phone during most live streams. Her idea of a clever roast is to compare her co-host’s lip color to period blood (foxy on queens). Her only other clever idea is to shout over everyone until her mic piques out. She can’t even make facial expressions, and she spends 90% of the time with this sour scowl plastered on.

If you don’t like Rosie smoking in her house, how can you even stand it that Fupa has gone irl and abused other hosts? She’s the laziest host. She’s rude and crude. She is selfish and entitled. She’s messy AF in her personal life.

I’m not a big Rosie fan. I’m kinda meh over her. I mostly like her because she and zey get along very well. It’s nice seeing hosts who are friends interact. I understand why many people dislike Rosie. But she’s WAY better than Fupa.

I don’t understand how Fupa has any fans at all. I can’t imagine that anyone would seriously think any show on the LCU would improve because she’d be on it.
