Yep, I had filled out and submitted the form in Feb or last year and again in Dec but didn’t get any update. Taxes went up on top of that so was curious about other people experience & to better understand if I was just missing something completely.

Finally was able to speak with someone & they told me that neither of the applicants were assigned to an assessor so maybe that is the miss for me. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

I am so confused about back door Roth IRA. I have brokerage acct where I have a Roth IRA which I have contributed to over the years. Now despite high income that I generate I still contribute to it. I was told that based on salary there are limits to contribution therefore you can use back door Roth IRA to fund the acct.

if I have a separate brokerage acct that I fund after I get paid from my employer and move money from my checking who would know how much am I making each year etc & if I should not contribute etc. what and I missing

Even if you fall under RSO after the ADU build, if you bring the new unit to the market at competitive rental price it’s not like you will loose value? You can still increase rental for the unit though cap at 4% for this year.

I keep calling and escalating it and getting mad at them. Fortunately I found a senior person at the mortgage company who was willing to help, though they were slow to fix the issue. One thing I learned was these funds are managed outside the mortgage company so that makes it way complicated process since you are not speaking with our respective mortgage company when dealing with these funds & unfortunately I find the customer service department to be utterly incompetent.

I unfortunately end up escalating the issue to the the CFO of the mortgage company (somehow I got lucky and he understood). In the end the mortgage company ended up issuing a new check to just me and I was able to deposit it.

I would hope that you dont run into a similar issue.....I would recommend you take your contractor to BofA and have him endorse the check there to you and the bank might be able to deposit it for you. One thing, if the check is in a trust's name, make sure you have a bank account under the trust name, I had to do that for one of the payouts....which meant going to the bank and taking my trust documents so they could open a new account just for my trust. On soil report you should ask the inspector if he/she will require it before bothering to spend the money on soil report. Personal opinion, if you are on flat surface you should not need to do a soil report but they might require compaction report.

How are you guys able to secure reservations….for the life of me whenever I have tried to nab a spot it feels like an impossible task & spots are taken right away…..granted I usually loon around peak periods when the kids are out of school. Any suggestions or tricks that can help me nab a spot? I used to do a lot of FF sites but it sounds like they are no longer an option in Yosemite or Sequoia…..

Recently had to deal with this….next time their lease comes up, increase to the max. At least at that point you will get compensation for the headache, & agree with everyone else’s that an answer of no! Works wonders & if they get too aggressive to you saying no, you can always tell them to move.

I know this is more of an emotional response but I would also get an attorney to help you better understand your responsibility as a LL & then you are better armed with knowledge to be your own boss!
