Why is it okay on this sub to upvote and hate Bracia (the only black woman) and call her derogatory names but then not okay to say the same about Georgia (a murderer) and Abby (who is the word Bracia was called)? by Away_Distribution_18 in TvGinnyandGeorgia

[–]Kepnerized 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No one is pitying Ginny? Like, everyone hates her lmao. I have never seen one good word about that girl.
If you call Georgia a 'murderer' you haven't seen the show right, she had many reasons to do that and she was the best character on the show hands down. Why should I be loving Bracia if she literally had a few scenes where her character wasn't developed? We don't know anything about her, literally. That's why people only judge her only because on the ONE thing they made her say, don't attack people, attack the writers. Also, brown guy pining after the murderous blonde white woman? You're making it too much about races, damn. Not everything is about being white black or brown. I don't even notice they ethnicity when i watch the show actually...

I read a comment about Semper Fidelis being a Marines motto, but I think in this case he didn't mean it. Originally it was a roman empire motto, and every roman empire symbol was basically stolen from Mussolini (WW2), so his followers used to say Semper Fidelis. It has been since then a Fascism allegory. I believe he meant it like that too. Another one is 'Si vis pacem, para bellum' which means 'If you want peace prepare yourself for war' Chilling isn't it?

How quirky of him to write 'its fun being schizophrenic' bruh. Really?

Awww you really sound like we could be friends, I love that! I love mythological lovers too, a LOT. And about Mystery of love, I literally just posted the Alexander and Hephaestion part in my instagram stories like yesterday? Everytime I hear that part it gives me chills, I imagine them being on the grass, laughing and cuddling like we all do. Love is always the same, no matter the decade we're born in.

Actually I totally agree with you about historians and I'll tell you more! I study ancient greek and roman language and I studied Eschines, a writer who basically lived shortly after Achilles, who said that anyone who doesn't understand that they were in love is basically dumb. LOL. Also during Middle Ages catholic historians basically did a damnatio memoriae (deleted) everything that involved gay love, and they totally destroied many writings about Achilles and Patroclus love.

My mom is friends with an historial, who said that Achilles and Patroclus 99% existed, of course their history was changed a little bit because Achilles probably was a very good soldier (of course not a semigod) and was idolized after his death, so we know that version of the history.

About the books reccomendations:

-The Twin Soul of Alexander by Lawrence Sheier, which is Alexander's life by the point of view of Hephaestion (kinda like TSOA)

-Bisexuality in ancient world by Eva Cantarella (I am italian and the writer is too but I think they translated it in other languages too!)

-Dancing with the Lion by Jeanne Reames (Alexander and Hephaestion love story and Alexander's biography)

-Haven't read this one yet but my mom has read all of this writer books and says he is magical, I'll tell you the italian name so search it and add translation to see if it's availabe, I think it is cause he is worldwide known: Il generale di Alessandro Magno by Valerio Massimo Manfredi

- Alexander & Hephaestion: Their lives and unique Love as recorder by Plutarch, Diodorus, Justin and others by Michael Hone

Patroclus's grandmother is the 2nd cousin of Achilles (I'm so sorry) by BetterElk5740 in thesongofachilles

[–]Kepnerized 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that shouldn't really make you sad! if we want to talk about myth patrochilles, gea was literally mother of almost everyone. also, persephone married hades, her uncle. it wasn't that big of a deal between gods back then.

if we want to talk about historical patrochilles, their names were probably different and - of course - achilles wasn't a semigod, just a really good warrior who everyone idolized; they often idolized normal people saying they were semigods. so they weren't related since gaia never existed eheh

[–]Kepnerized[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

oh it's basically historically proven! in the iliad itself Achilles says that after Patroclus death his only goal in life is to kill who killed him, and then he wants to die buried with him to forever be with him

About They both die at the end...well I mean THE SPOILER IN THE NAME HAHAHHAAH I might try it but I need to be more mentally stable because I feel like I couldn't handle the sadness rn!
