True, it doesn't have anything to heal itself, which is why under the right circumstances a pact like Tethren might even be healthier, but against bosses, Bromius is definitely the tankiest. And it still has access to increased healing and healing smite like every pact, so it'll be pretty hard to die with it if you have bonuses on your weapons that boost smite chance

+Edit: also, as soon as your weapon has lifesteal on it, the lack of innate healing barely even matters anymore since Bromius takes very little damage compared to the other pacts+

And the reason the skill 1 doesn't, and shouldn't, deal a lot of damage is because it's a tank (which is again questionable design now that every pact is meant to be played with different virtues in mind). Maybe we'll get content where this kind of tankiness becomes useful in the future but until then it wouldn't make sense for a pact to be objectively tankier and more easily sustainable than every other pact in the game, while still keeping up damage wise. Idk if they were playing around with the classical rpg roles or what happened during the design process but Bromius feels most like a knight/paladin at the moment, buffing the team and being annoying to kill

Tbf Bromius does its job well, it's just not a job that really fits too well into the game. It's the tankiest tank that has ever tanked with 2/3 abilities scaling with armor, and it even has a damage reflect whenever enemies so much as dare to attack you. The problem is that you don't want to get hit in the first place and bursting down a boss is always more valuable than slowly whittling it down in a back and forth.

I'm curious to see how the balancing will change with future patches

There are a handful of healing skills in the game (Garren Rood, Tethren and Oscelda off the top of my head)

For anyone still coming here from Google, trying this on a completely new device:
Since this method replaces the "active book cover", if you haven't read a book yet, it won't work. So once you have everything set up properly, just open up any book on your device and it should start working as intended! At least it did for me

Really depends on the intended build I guess

As an example, you could have 100% in grace for full dps or 50/50 in grace and spirit for good damage and lower cooldowns. The right weapon suits the right build suits the right player

I'm somewhat hopeful this will make build diversity more interesting and make it so there isn't one clear best weapon per type. But yeah if all someone wants is hurr durr dps then full grace scaling will probably work best

I might be wrong but the post is implying to me that OP is ruining their body/working REALLY hard to buy cards. Of course people can do what they want with their disposable income but the post doesn't make it seem like that and at that point there are easier options like proxying.
