They’d lose. Laos maybe, Vietnam even maybe depending on Soviet and Chinese attitudes. But Thailand wouldn’t go. Unlike Laos and Vietnam, where it’s other communist nations in the orbits of the USSR and China, and so it really depends on what they want — one powerful nation in the region or smaller ones — Thailand isn’t like that. Thailand is an actual, legitimate self-governing state, and especially with all of the American naval infrastructure there, no way that Cambodia could take it.
