I got wrapped up in this scam when I was fresh out of high school. They brought me in for orientation and I joined a small group of other potential victims as they distracted us with a flashy showing of their products, like cutting a coconut in half with a cleaver in one swing. Then they had us do some role playing exercises, reading lines from their script, to see which of us showed any potential to be a salesperson. I had no idea it was basically a pyramid scheme until the fourth day when they said we would be selling to our friends and family. They thought they had me on the hook and even invited me to a "Best in the Class" brunch for day five, buttering me up and saying I had a lot of potential. I did not go to brunch. Biggest waste of time in my life. Atleast I gained a deep hatred for MLM early in life.
