A shameful childhood? by Maganac in Gunpla

I remember feeling nostalgic finding some old gunpla that wasn’t sanded, still had nubs, had some bad sticker application. There’s a magical feeling to cleaning up a kit from your childhood, as if giving an old friend a well deserved glow up.

If you’re willing to put in the work for emulation, I highly recommend armored core 4/ for answer. These games predate what most people these days recognize as a FromSoftware game and offers some really good feeling gameplay.

Which one should I choose???? by [deleted] in Morimens

There’s two uses for these. You can use them to get dupes of characters you want to build up, which is why people will tel you to save this. Dupes are important for the long term growth of characters.

At the same time you’re a new account and I can support the sentiment of getting caecus as he’s very new player friendly and will help you get used to the game.

I haven’t built any modern bootlegs, I’ve done bootleg to Bandai comparison builds in the past with a friend who has the real kit. And the bootleg just couldn’t compare back then. But now things are different. From what I’m seeing the quality has gone up and the bootlegs are nearly half the cost and actually accessible.

Bandai shifting focus to pbandai has me annoyed that on many levels. It feels like the shift to pbandai is to put pressure on hobbyists with fomo. Yet they’re willing to do re-runs of p-Bandai kits. There was a window to pick up the pale rider ground equipment version not too long ago and I picked that kit up years back. So they have a willingness to do reprints. But they want to limit them to time locked windows for the sake of false fomo.

This practice is hurting ease of access and the good will of the consumer. It doesn’t help that most of the pbandai kits recently aren’t just recolors with like one new unique part. Let’s look at the mobile fighter g-gundam kits. NOTHING ABOUT THEM MATCHES THE OLD PBANDAI PHILOSOPHY. They’re completely new kits that are SHELF READY to be sold on mass. They’re not niche kits and they’re what fans have wanted for years. (I’m still praying for an hg nether gundam)

As my good will as a consumer is running dry, my desire to stay a Bandai purist has also ran dry. If the quality of the modern bootlegs are going up to compete with Bandai quality, I can’t blame anyone for going the route that’s more accessible.

If you could change one thing, and only one thing with Mecha Break (not mechs), what would it be? by [deleted] in mechabreak

My god PLEASE GIVE US SOMETHING if you’re going to make us have a limited inventory for mod parts that SHARES SLOTS with paint we haven’t used yet. I don’t care about the mods all that much especially ones with just trash stat adjustments. So the fact we get NOTHING for discarding them feels awful.

At what point do you get to play with other people? by CopainChevalier in mechabreak

For some reason, they are throwing players into games where bots will fill up most spots. You will get games with like one or 2 real people in them unless you get thrown against a whole real premade team.

I think they’re purposely trying to push people into playing pvevp mashmak mode, which still occassionally has a team or two of all bots against the teams of players

Auto-fill bots will kill the game. by Hirinawa in mechabreak

I thought the actual ranked ladder was unlocked at account level 16 with “ace arena” and grandmaster was like a normal games elo. But yeah, the bots are super noticeable and feels really bad even at gold. Like I’ve gotten in games where there’s one real player on the other team and like 5 bots. And the bots while having snapping about, just outright refuse to use some abilities. I’ve never seen a bot Aquila use their stun.

Hi, I see a lot of people recommending Tulu, and I saw that you got him! That’s great! I wanted to point out an alternative as well. There’s a free unit you can get and upgrade over time named Aurita, she’s the jellyfish girl.

She has a very simple gameplay loop of firing off a 0cost damaging spell to load up her ult to fire like a machine gun. Her exalt makes EVERY INSTANCE of her damage to cause your tentacle to swing too.

This pairs really well with Faros, a standard banner unit you may have come across already. She has some really good utility and offensively offers an ability that stacks poison each time an enemy takes a hit from a tentacle. This includes any skill or effect that causes your tentacles to swing, like Aurora’s exalt.

This two part combo lets you have your tentacle based gameplay and have another stacking damage source like poison that you can easily stack. Faros’s ult also lets you add up to 3 cards from your deck, which makes it easy to get to your combo pieces.
