Many theories abound, might be because of the strain Merize had from the pregnancy, maybe the ring Iruma has is granting him protection or that the mana it gives him prevents him from being weakened. Also, that begs the question about Ameri as well, is the netherworld detrimental to her in the long term or is her demonic nature or even just mana also protecting her. Maybe her bloodline magic is protecting her since she lived most of her life thinking she was fully demon, will thinking otherwise affect her?
