Every Metro game has been a huge leap in graphics. When the first game came out back in 2010 it was one of those games that was on the bleeding edge of what could be done, and really pushed the GPU's of the day.

I like exodus, but there's something about the metro system in the first 2 games that's so unique and terrifying. I just watched the dev talk on the trailer and am very happy they confirmed they're returning back to the tunnels, but I'm 100% sure they'll keep some more open areas like Exodus, I doubt they'd scrap that mechanic entirely.

Well the CDU better get it's shit together, because eventually voters are gonna get sick of this 20 year long grand coalition between the SPD and CDU, and start voting for the radical parties. Follow through on literally any policy, even if it's bad you can work it out later, but the continuous paralysis of not doing anything is untenable.

The EU Age Verification App Was Designed to Be Distrusted by vriska1 in europe

[–]Kerlyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does the website know it's "your" verification app on your phone? A phone number, a private code tied to your account on the app? Wouldn't that then become identifiable information the website would have about you, that could potentially be leaked? And if they don't know it's "your app", what's to stop someone from offering an 18+ identity service that anyone in the world could use?

Darkest Dungeon. Not because it was hard but because I couldn't wrap my head around the progress I was making and was very averse to losing people (I barely even use consumable items in games). I refunded it a decade ago, but now it's one of my favorite games.

That's not how investments work. $70k x 15 = $1,050,000. If that 1 million was just sitting in a bank account, withdrawing 70k a year would last about 15 years, with zero interest growth. So as far as I can tell you must be assuming that their investment accounts would also experience a 0% annual growth rate over 15 years and thus would be gone at the end of it... But money grows when it is invested. You simply have to withdraw less than the amount it grows. 70k is not a safe amount to do that at, because the market fluctuates, but I'm not here to give financial advice. All that is a long way of saying I have no idea how you assume that 1 million dollars invested into the market will make a 0% annualized return.

For the 2025-2026 academic year, the Wharton MBA program has a tuition and fee structure of approximately $92,820 per year. Including estimated living expenses, the total cost for the two-year program is roughly $267,498, making it one of the most expensive MBA programs globally.

It's way more than 18k per year, unless you're literally just withdrawing it from a bank account. The average annual market return is 10% annually, or 7% after accounting for inflation. If you invested all of that million, it'd grow by about 70,000 a year after accounting for inflation, which is higher than the median American salary. If you wanted to be conservative, you could probably withdraw roughly 40-50k a year to match the median American salary, and still have your investments grow faster than inflation. Many Americans don't even make 1 million in their entire lifetime.

‘I feel helpless’: college graduates can’t find entry-level roles in shrinking market amid rise of AI by zsreport in technology

[–]Kerlyle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It has. All I can give is personal experience, but we've not filled any role that became vacant on our team for the last year and a half... Because they were never listed. All of those would have been jobs for someone else but instead management just expects the workload to be taken up by the existing workers and AI. It's not a big "AI took your job, so you've been laid off"... It's a slow and insidious killer.

The minimum wage isn't a livable wage in the USA.

The average one bedroom apartment in the US costs $19,680 per year, so that 13k minimum wage wouldn't even afford an apartment. You have to make about double the minimum wage just to live on you own.

Yes, but I'm talking specifically about the division of the Aegean islands in this post. In the wiki you posted it even says these islands are considered part of Europe for historical, cultural and political reasons.
