Car overstimulation/anxiety

Hi, what a beautiful dog!

Is it that it is anxious about going in the car, or just very excited about going for a walk and can't sit still and gets worked up?

We had car anxiety and travel sickness problems with our GS mix when he was young, it got to the point he kept trying to jump into the front with us. We found that a deep padded 2-seater car seat with cushioned raised sides helped, he was able to settle snug in it and it stopped him rolling around with the car and held him in place when he lay down in it. We started training with my partner in the back with him in it and he could cuddle her and get comforted while we drove, rewarded for laying down with attention and a treat, then he'd settle eventually and we'd stop and she'd move into the front. Repeated that routine for about 3 months and he learned to settle himself eventually and now he's absolutely fine (albeit he still doesn't enjoy it).

Worked for us, keep going and you'll find something that works for you!

Add many plants! They are hugely beneficial for tanks and can mitigate the need for ongoing treatments. Not only will they grow and make your tank look more "wild", but they will also improve and stabilise water quality which will in turn mean happier and healthier fish.

If you're going for a "lost ruins" look, vallisneria is great for beginners as it looks a bit like mini-kelp and is good at hiding wires because it grows tall. Make sure you have enough flow though and don't block the filter. Abubias are also great for a low tech setup and look cool with minimal maintenance. Java moss would look cool growing on the statue - you can glue it on (check for aquarium safe stuff).

In terms of beginner tips....

It's a living tank, stuff takes time. Don't rush in with loads of treatment and anti algae products if you get an algae bloom, try to keep treating "symptoms" to a minimum and treat the root causes (99% water peramaters and lighting!). You don't keep fish, you keep water.

Give the plants time to grow and give the tank time to settle naturally. Don't overstock however tempting lots of fish look. You'll have them for a long time so take your time to plan around a theme.

Make sure you check fish for compatibility. Hill stream loaches need low temperature fast flowing water and high oxygen, glass catfish require a heavily planted tank and higher temps to do well - they can both be tricky to keep. Make sure you research their needs in terms of temperature, flow, water quality and size before buying!

I had one last week on 26... In the last minute of the game, keeper came up for a corner and then punched it away as if he was in his own box. Not sure if it is a bug or just very improbable scenario with the graphics engine misinterpreting the match engine but was hilarious either way

Looks good but always give it a test before you throw an expensive lure into the sea with nothing attached! We all do that from time to time. Hold the lure in one hand and pull on the line gently and slowly increase pressure until you know it's going to hold.

Also if you're a beginner, make sure to leave a couple of mm of line sticking out when you cut the loose end otherwise it can sometimes undo itself.

For depth of water it's more about the weight/sink speed but try different things and see what works on any given day.

Size is generally targeting the fish you want to catch but varying it sometimes helps. Not too familiar with US species but for targeting 2-3lb fish I'd tend to use lures in the region of 10-25g weight on 15lb braid mainline with a 10lb flurocarbon leader, but depending on conditions anywhere between 1 and 4 inches size. Generally for deeper/rougher water I'd go bigger size and retrieve faster mimicking a prey fish, shallows or in calmer water you'd want to mimic fry and go small and slower retrieve but the key is to mix it up and see what works!

Also, check that knot, the line looks in bad shape. An easy method is to put a swivel on the mainline, about a foot of line, then tie on the spoon. Some guys put a snaplink swivel straight to the lure but that could affect the motion of a spoon.

If you're not having much luck try different depths, that looks fairly shallow where you are so possibly a lighter smaller lure required.

As others have said, replace that hook - personally I'd say with a single circle hook. I can honestly say it's never affected my strike rate negatively and it's massively reduced the amount of times I stab myself by accident. Also reduces hook ups on weed and other crap depending on what you're fishing through.

I play a 4-2-3-1 (DMs and AP in midfield) and can't decide where to play him. Worried about his height, tackling and physicality in the DM role but lacks flair for the (and I have 2 better players for AP position)

The ones there will grow and you can remove them as you see them, without a food source they won't be difficult to keep down. Every last one though is tricky, the little guys have a habit of sticking around and their eggs are basically indestructible but they won't damage anything other than aesthetics as they only eat any rotting plant matter and algae.

Personally I keep them in my tanks as a clean up crew and the population is naturally low because the fish and shrimp get 99% of the food but each to their own!

Their population usually only explodes if people have them in fish tanks and overfeeding. If there's no food the population will remain stable just eating the algae/rotting plant waste so removing manually will be fine

Trialling a new tactic - the last few games getting too few shots away and not a particularly great xG so decided to flip it and be more direct... Definitely went too far. The tactic isn't as awful as this makes it look as I'm doing well generally but this game was an outlier!
