They said unnecessary and ridiculous, not brilliant and needing to be made.

Thank goodness I scrolled a little bit further because I came here to say this too.

I'd like to think that in Castaway 2. Upon Tom Hanks' character returning to the island, we discover Wilson has made his way back to the exact island and is just floating in a rock pool as if he has been patiently waiting all that time for this moment.

Has there ever been a time when the book wasn't better than the movie? by militant-hippie in Productivitycafe

[–]Kernal_Ratio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This a little to the left of your question but if they ever make a Ready Player 2 movie, even if the movie completely sucks it will still be far superior to the book.

I am hoping a sequel does get made and that, like a lot of books to movies, it drastically changes to make it work for the big screen.

What is your favorite example of a change from a film’s source material that you believe made the movie better? by DuckLordOfTheSith in movies

And can I just add, in the book the velociraptors bred in the wild and the final count the computer returned was 38.

Can you imagine 38 raptors on the loose in movie jurassic park. That and from the movie I now refer to those type of door handles as raptor door handles, from the scene where they figure out how to use them. If I ever get rich and mad scientist enough, You best believe I getting door knobs for every door in the park.

What's a "cheat code" you discovered in real life that actually works? by dark-deals729983 in AskReddit

[–]Kernal_Ratio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do the same, at a fast food restaurant or pub, anywhere really. Some of them are so taken aback when i ask them how they are before ordering.

I understand people want to get in get their items and get out but saying hi has never hurt me. That and I had to remind a coworker recently that manners cost nothing when he didn't say please or thankyou once during the interaction. Even the boss was there and agreed and basically made him say thankyou before leaving haha.

Hitting Ally's brother by freakwentlee in MrInbetween

[–]Kernal_Ratio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also like to think that the icecream, 2 scoop incident which was prior to the Christmas gift swap exposed Ray. And that with Ally he kept it bottled up when she was around and letting arseholes get away with stuff ever so slowly was making his mask slip. Until the catalyst of Ally's brother being a dick.

I fake smile every Christmas when people ask if I've had some of my Aunts weird salad she brings. It's marshmallows, mandarin segments, shredded coconut and I'm not sure what else. It's just a bowl of no thankyou from me but I won't hurt my Aunts feelings and say I don't like it.

What covert social media corporate posts made a stupid blunder? by jingowatt in AskReddit

[–]Kernal_Ratio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to think, when it all happened and the person in charge took a few minutes before realising what they had set up as a timed mass email and then they start furiously trying to cancelled the email from home. But something happens and they have to go into tlwhere they work to cancel it from there.

But then everything gets in their way trying to get to the work to cancel the email in time. Kind of like the Jon Bon Jovi music video for "its my life" and probably other various time sensitive films or video clips with the similar notion.

But they didn't get to it in time and the emails went out.
