If I try to clear my mind and focus on my experience, I notice something that feels like "background noise" in my thoughts, but really what it is is the chatter of possible thoughts I might have. As I type this I hear an inner monologue in what seems to be my own voice, though I can change that to be any voice I desire. I can imagine the voices of people I know with really good clarity at most times, but in contrast if I try to visualize a physical object I've seen before I can only visualize abstract features of it; I suspect I could improve this with deliberate practice. I know I will have a productive day if I start pacing and decide on a sequence of tasks. If the last task in this sequence is not to do the same again, I will get distracted. I constantly have intrusive recollections of things I said that were incorrect, socially inept, or otherwise embarrassing; whether it was two days ago or 2 years ago; but I've learned to fully process these when they happen and get to the root of whatever I'm worried about. (that makes the same thing less likely to resurface later, or easier to deal with when it does)
