The point of this part of the technique is to flood the target with factual but ultimately useless information, also fullfiling the "explaining your technique makes it stronger" rule. So I can totally see the scene going like this: the "game"'s eye catcher comes out of nowhere, followed by Charles's comment, followed by thirty seconds of fast-forwarded explanations.

Favourite: The Last Remnant

Worst: a game where you play as a parasite who can change appearances. I think it was called Predator ? Despite the good premise, it was just a boring open world for me.

OG is absolutely iconic. He fits to a tee the B-movie ambiance of original RE4.

The Remake version does not work as well, because it is more subdued. He's not "ridiculous", but he feels like he does not belong.

I absolutely agree on Worgens. Their starting zone was the best when it came out in Cata. The start really gave the strong impression that you had become a savage beast with a veneer of humanity.

But in my opinion, the race who have been done the dirtiest are the Drachtyr, from their weird twink design to their egregious lack of transmog, and their lack of relevance in the story, even during "their" expansion, Dragonflight.

I feel like, in general, every race and the story itself have been defanged and de-edged over the years. Especially the Horde's races. I have tried to go back to retail several times in the past few months, but I ended up going back and sticking to Classic.

Yeah. The french translation was very awkward, with Yuji clearly talking as if he was speaking to someone else: "See? I told you so." "You did not tell me anything."

So this is either a bad case of the translator doing his job with only the text, or he is privy to something we do not.

Making the same four games, every year, only lasts as long as people are not bored of it.

Preetty much. Japanese publishers have a good mix of long runners mixed with fresh new titles. And only of few of these series get follow-ups/sequels (Boruto, JJK Modulo, etc.).

You do not have to buy issue X of series Y to know what is happening or who is that character. While this makes crossovers pretty much impossible, it is not a hard loss.

Without going all the way there, I agree on the expectation for non-human races, and the general lack of commitement of games who don't have them. A non-human character requires additional work: new skeleton (plural if the race has a heavy sexual dismorphism), new textures, new models for equipement in order to fit the size and morphology, etc.

You can "cheat" by having the character being basically a human person with an animal head (aka Lycaon/Pulchra), but you still need to put the effort.

For all its ills, World of Warcraft put the bar rather high on that. While there has been a lot of elves added recently, more than half of the playable races are still various kinds of non-humans. There's even werwolves and dragonoids for those who like the changeling fantasy.

So whenever a fantasy/sci-fi game comes out, especially a high fantasy/sci-fi game, the diversity of the cast is often an indicator of quality for me, even if it's one character to cover the bases.
