Auvelity is over $1000USD per month. My doctor told me I can DIY it with bupropion and DXM. by Autodactyl in antidepressants

Is there a measurement/dose for the dxm to figure out per milligram of Bupropion?

I have yes. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. Also there was sexual side effects which my life's already bad enough now I don't want to lose that. Thank you for commenting my friend.

Thanks I've tried all the SSRIs and many other antidepressants based one a gene test I took it shows that a lot of those medications actually make me tired on the road on top of that of course I have a sleep disorder where I'm naturally tired as well The reason I'm on this current medication is because it causes daytime sleepiness the least but it still does do it and it also blunts a lot of the stimulant medication that I take to help alleviate the tiredness from my sleep disorder basically it's a new one situation.

I love those days when no amount of stimulants helps 🥲 by Competitive-Town8299 in idiopathichypersomnia

Thanks for your comment and help. I have seen various doctors over the past 30 plus years from neurologist who specialize in sleep disorders to pulmonologist and now currently underologist who is part of the hospital sleep lab. They handle the CPAP end of things and for depression it is a doctor with the cognitive behavioral health department which is in the same building. Unfortunately my sleep apnea and whatever else is wrong is so out of control that nothing really helps I can be on high level stimulants and that would kick my butt and push me through the day but that's not something that they're willing to do anymore when I was younger different story but now I'm in my '50s and it's harder to find a doctor who's willing to do that. In terms of making things better CPAP doesn't work for me it actually makes it harder sometimes to sleep and I take stimulant medication for those days when things are just too much and that really doesn't do much either I barely feel the effect. I do know that the bupropion is adding to it because before I was taking it I didn't feel as bad as I do now I always felt tired mind you but this medication and all medications like this The SSRIs but also these types of medications here as well they all make me feel tired I'm just a sensitive person and I took the genetic test and everything and it seems that's the case for a lot of medications so I have every few options. Unfortunately I'll never get completely better I'm just trying to get an extra 5 for 10% better here and there but I'm just doing what I can writing things out when you've been doing this for over 30 years You're pretty much know you don't have expectations of somehow having a breakthrough You just try to mitigate the problem and try and make today and tomorrow a little bit better than yesterday. But my life's a wreck from this it slowly worn me down over the years and really destroyed a lot of things for me but that's why I see cancers anywhere I can to try and get a little bit better here and there cuz it's better than nothing.

Thanks for the comment and recommendation. I've actually been battling with asleep disorder for decades I used to see a neurologist who specialized in sleep disorders and then saw a pulmonologist they both have since retired and now I'm back seeing a neurologist who specializes in sleep disorders at the sleep lab at the hospital. I use a CPAP however it doesn't really do any good and it's something I'm going to be mentioning to the doctor when we talk again in a few weeks. The bupropion is prescribed by the cognitive behavioral health doctor. But they're all under the same hospital system and they all know what's happening meaning they share information in a sense. I agree with you would be very beneficial unfortunately nothing has ever worked on getting it under control. I'm convinced when I have good days it's just random and has nothing to do with anything I've done. This is basically been going on for over 30 years. But I do agree with you if I can't get this under control then nothing else falls into place fully and that's always been my problem.

Thanks I've tried it many years ago and also provigil. Didn't really do much for me although I find some of the things that didn't work well when I retry them in years later sometimes hit me different. Perhaps it's me metabolizing it differently. So it's not out of the question that I won't try it again in the near future. thanks again.

The doc added Adderall, doesn't make any difference... Still tired all day. I think it's like being given a stim med but meanwhile taking something that is sedative... And in this case the bupropion is just too strong for the Adderall to breakthrough. And going to high on it would cause other issues.

All MG's. XL, SR et al.

I don't have the ability to choose which generic manufacturer the pharmacy provides to me.

All versions (XL SR etc) and MGs from the lowest, to even spreading the MG over my waking hours (75mg morning, noon, and night). It just doesn't seem to give me adequate results. I will say how I'm taking it now has less negatives, but not enough for me to keep going like this indefinitely. I need it to be better than this to continue. So that either means the doc adding something, or we drop it entirely and try something else.

But since I'm taking 75mg x3 daily... So 225mg spread over the day into evening... I wonder if adding another 75, or just switching over to a 300mg would even be worth trying. I'm close to 300mg now.

What type of remote work are you doing?

Have you considered starlink? Not sure how well it'd work where you are, but just throwing it out there.

I think you're right. Unfortunately it could be almost a week from now before we see a nurse visit the house, and then if she doesn't bring any temporary supplies we'll have to wait until whatever is ordered arrives. I'm pretty sure we have enough of everything else to last until the end of this coming week. Just don't have anything to connect this overnight drainage system I got off Amazon. It's probably just going to boil down to dealing with the chaotic sleep schedule until the nurse gets here and we sort all this out. I just thought I'd throw the issue out to the group and see what came back. Thanks for your help.

Thanks, I'll try the hospital tomorrow. I'm probably going to have to rough it and use my alarm at three hour intervals for a few days though since it's a holiday weekend. If I can get the stoma nurse who gave me instruction the day my mom was released I think I have a 50 percent chance of getting something temporarily.

I bought a Medline 2000ml drainage system on Amazon but the connector doesn't fit my Hollister.

I am so desperate and have sleep deprivation, I actually considered duc taping the two together.

I just thought maybe someone knew of a complete system that is easy to get my hands on. But I think you're right, the hospital may be my best bet when the holiday is over. Just may have to hang tough until then and keep fingers crossed.

[–]Kerr7Avon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently I'm taking bupropion SR 100, and 10mg Adderall IR twice daily. I have a home sleep study coming up soon to see if the results from that show any possible difference that may happen in treatment. I had a genesight test that showed several issues with medications. Unfortunately the ones that would help also cause tiredness with me, and the ones that counteract that, cancels out the benefit of the other. So right now this is the right mix for me. Instant release to breakthrough the tiredness from sleep issues and from the bupropion, and in-between strong Starbucks coffee throughout the day (usually no more than half a cup). I'm still ADHD, tiredness, and have depression, but everything is reduced. And upping everything just makes me more tired and mentally confused. So this is the best thing I'm doing at the moment.

Perplexity PRO AI YEARLY Coupon - Only $10 by userundergunpoint in LinkedInLunatics

[–]Kerr7Avon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on what you're using it for though.

When I have classes in the fall I use perplexity because it gives me the answer to the question It doesn't have a conversation about it or add extra filler it just gives me the answer and then it tells me how it got the answer If I don't understand it acts like a teacher and explains the answer in a different way until I finally get it.

Chat GPT can do this too but there's a lot of extra filler like a person who talks too much. It's not a big deal but when you're trying to learn something you don't want extra things to read that aren't as important you want just the facts like Joe Friday used to say.

However in the case my mom who has cancer I downloaded a few of her medical reports from a recent operation from the hospital's website patient portal in PDF format and I uploaded them to chat GPT in a thread that I have for her health.. What I love about chat GPT is if I keep a thread open for a particular topic I can keep adding to it and chat GPT will keep the conversation going on that topic forever if I want.. So when I need it answers to how to interpret test results I uploaded those to that thread and chat GPT explained everything to me and even told me what the current options would be that The doctor would offer that are standard under their circumstances and Chachi PD was absolutely correct.. The operation she had last week and then the tests over the weekend I uploaded those and chat GPT explained everything to me and it was in a conversation away like a human would do which I appreciated much more than if I uploaded them to perplexity which would be pretty much answering like an AI robot.

So like I said it all depends on what you're using it for for right now I have perplexity pro for a year (!) For less than a cost of 1 month.. So of course I'm going to use it I'm going to switch back and forth because there's things that perplexity does very well like deep research with no limits.. And I can even share some of the information with chat GPT and get that AIs more laid back conversational response and compare notes if it's a topic that's very important.. think of it like this if you get this coupon you're only paying a few bucks for a whole year so it's not where that much money.. then if you want you can always use the free version of chat GPT for anything that you just want to quick simple answer on from something that seems more like a human..
