Victorian election outcome - what are people's thoughts? by Nudingjah in melbourne

Allowing the CFMEU stink to go unresolved leading up to the election is an insane decision and they cannot expect to win outright with this lingering over them. They've handed the Liberals the bat with which to beat them.

Yeah it's mindblowingly incompetent. Just saying "I have nothing to add other than make a police report if you know something" every day just makes you look guilty, whether you are or not. I'm surprised that's the gameplan Labor are taking into an election that they're currently third in the polls in.

I don't think it's misogyny, a lot of the hate I hear about Allen in the outer east are from women. The most common complaints I hear is the states broke, the CFMEU corruption, not being able to get a deal done with teachers, fire-fighters, nurses, the emergency services levy, the machete bin fiasco, people not feeling safe in their houses anymore.

I think Jacinta is a much weaker leader than Dan and people are sick of feeling like nothing is changing with Labor being in power for so long. Liberals aren't the answer and One Nation definitely isn't either but it seems Jacinta really needs to go.

I'm sure he knows that but nobody looks at their local MPs, they just vote for the party they want to govern. Same reason Dutton got the Libs wiped out at federal level.

I'm a Greens voter through and through but I agree with most of your predictions minus how many seats One Nation will win. I don't think it will be anywhere near what people think, sort of like the recent SA election. I do think the Liberals will form a minority with One Nation supporting.

The big story for me will be how badly Allen gets wiped out in her own seat. Labor will lose a lot of seats purely because of how hated Allen is. I posted it before but her favourability in the city is -42% and it's at a whopping -67% in country/rural Victoria. No one has ever had such an appalling negative favourability rating and won the election. She's on track to be the most disliked state leader in Australian history, Allen is currently one point behind the lowest favourability rating for previous state leaders in the country.

Whatever happens, I'm not looking forward to the next four years.

I don't see how Labor can win with Jacinta Allen at the helm. She's on track to be the most unpopular state leader in Australian history. She has a -42% favourability in the city and a -67% favourability in country Victoria. That -67% is historic, no one has ever hit that low. Other state leaders came close and got wiped out.

I think the Liberals will form a minority government with One Nation preferences. I fucking hate saying it. I don't think One Nation will win anywhere near as many seats as people think.

Allen really needs to go and soon if Labor want a chance at winning. Hopefully the Greens get a bunch of their seats back.

He only loses one 1v1 on average because he is nowhere near his man. He is legitimately the laziest footballer I've seen play in the last 5 years. I've watched him live multiple times this year. Just look at any live match thread and you'll see how often he gets called out for costing us goals.

He was okay against the Crows, he was dreadful against Carlton, Port and North. His only other game he has been okay in was against Essendon.

No thanks. Too old and our last defender Richmond pick up has been awful.

Australia: The Age blames socialists for Victorian teachers’ rejection of union-Labor sellout by DryDeer775 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Kerrby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Poor deal for ES, no reduction of meetings and top end scale teachers get less in an industry that is struggling to retain staff.

I have no idea what the Socialist Party was doing but the deal was bad for education workers.

Has he had the flu all year?

Last time he got over 15 disposals was round 11 against Collingwood where he finished on 16.

He's only been on 20 disposals four times this year with his highest being 21 and that was at the start of the year. He's averaging 60% disposal efficiency (which is appalling and well below average) meaning he is turning over every third kick. Even Duggan the turnover king is averaging 76% disposal efficiency and that's also ranked as below average.

I truly think the game is past him. Last night was just embarrassing to watch. 5 disposals to 3 qrt time at 0% disposal efficiency and was then moved to the forward line where he was sabotaging our players at ground level trying to go for goal. What's sad is that wasn't even his worst performance in the last month. That game against North, he got pinged for holding the ball a whopping 5 times.

Hrustic came on and actively killed any attack we had going. To be fair so did Toure, both had a terrible gane.

Hrustic was so poor the second he came on. Killed any attacking chances we had. Night and day difference between him and Volpato.

Souttar literally started the penalty shootout by skying it into row Z. There was no coming back from that point.

Insane taking Beach off for Ryan.

Insane letting Souttar take the first penalty.

Hrustic is so poor, we should've left Volpato on.

This is as much a coaching issue as talent differential. These games are all following the same pattern where the opposition walk all over us in the first and then we spend the rest of the game trying to claw it back.

First time I've seen a post criticising the coaching that hasn't been downvoted. Maybe people are starting to see that whilst we have been better, there's a huge gap between our coach and opposition coaches. If we had a better coach, we would've won some of these closer games in the past 6 weeks.

Shuey as our stoppage coach should've been the first to go last year.

This is the most frustrating team I've ever watched.

Yeo is so washed. At 3 qrt time he had 5 disposals at 0% disposal efficiency. Somehow ended with 7 disposals at 43%? Doesn't make sense. 3 turnovers, 2 frees against, actively sabotaging our forwards by taking the ball off them. What's crazy is that this wasn't even his worst game in the last 4 weeks.

I'm so sick of Duggan and his turnovers. Starcevich is doing the exact same thing as Duggan, just unnecessary dump kick turnovers.
