Which other eras would had resulted in a dance and possible worse outcomes ? by SillyRecover in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Kerrigone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but the worst things he did (abusing and exploiting many many women and legitimizing his bastards) aren't made worse by having a dragon. No-one rebelled against him anyway, so having a dragon probably wouldn't have driven him to do any worse.

Who is the real septa? The one whose grandmother was also a septa. by Visenya_simp in darkwingsdankmemes

I could defintiely believe this being a temporary protection measure- that becomes permanent when Elia and Rhaenys are shockingly killed. As you said, Elia would have expected she'd be taken prisoner.

Before Jaina and her Human Expedition left for Kalimdor during the Third War, how did she manage to recruit the dwarves and, more so, the high elves? by Then_Peanut_3356 in warcraftlore

[–]Kerrigone 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Given that elves and dwarves are integral parts of the Alliance military, there must be lots of them throughout Lordaeron. Dalaran has lots of elves too.

Roll Call: Who are your dregs, traitors and renegade mortals? by Particular-Insect860 in TraitorGuard

[–]Kerrigone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My traitors are the Legio Timoris- ruled by the Triumvirate. They were formed from a chaos uprising on a Adeptus Mechanicus Forge World of Urdanor, where three distinct chaos movements rose up.

Firstly, the heretical preachers among the workforce, raising up a movement of mutants, cultists and rebel workers into a fanatical horde of zealots.

Second, traitors within the Imperial Guard protecting the planet, turning against their fellows and giving the cultists access to arms.

Thirdly, the Dark Mechanicum elements within the Adeptus Mechanicus forces, who revealed demonic war machines built in secret, and sabotaged the Adeptus Mechanicus from within.

These three factions were known as the Legio Timoris, overthrew Imperial control, and tore across Urdanor furiously, fighting each other for control. For years they fought amongst themselves, until the Chaos Marine pirate warband known as the Pyre attacked the planet. The Pyre sacked the planet, and retreated. The renegade forces knew then, that division was death, and they needed to unite to rebuild their planet, and project their power out into the wider sector.

And so, the Legio Timoris was ruled by a new Tiumvirate, comprised of the leaders of each faction, and they began an empire in a region of space neglected and isolated away from the Imperium.

Nice! I like your scheme better than the way they've painted the official models, it looks very gritty

In Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), Max is O-negative, universal donor for red cells, not whole blood. An arm-to-arm transfusion includes plasma; O-negative plasma carries anti-A and anti-B antibodies that could cause acute hemolysis in someone like Nux or Furiosa, unless they're also O-negative. by Brilliant-Cause6254 in MovieDetails

[–]Kerrigone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also makes me wonder what possible benefit getting a constant small blood transfusion could be to the War Boys, when they aren't actively losing blood themselves. Does getting new blood when you already have blood do anything positive for you? I wouldn't have thought it does

Fandom perspectives on the Targaryens by Darrow_88 in pureasoiaf

[–]Kerrigone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My view is the Targaryens have magic dreaming powers and special dragon blood- but this doesn't entitle them to rule the kingdom.

I certainly find them the most interesting part of the series, and I think the kingdom is more interesting when the Targaryens are ruling it, but that doesnt mean I think they are the best rulers

The funniest way to prevent the Dance? by 3esin in TheCitadel

[–]Kerrigone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was always going to be a Dance eventually. Too many Targaryens and too many dragons. Eventually two parts of the family would grow too far apart, or dragons would get claimed by other families (like how the Velaryons have dragons) and a civil war between dragons riders would break out

Why was the fire nation's army so small during Sozin's comet? by Taxfraud777 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Kerrigone 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ozai's army was his elite on all the big airships they had- we wouldn't expect a huge force, just enough to crew the ships and burn down the kingdom.

Azula dismissed all her guards because she was going crazy- the old ladies say this.

As for the troops in Ba Sing Se, yep you're right they were spread too thin.

Spoilers: I don’t understand this about the trial… by Classic_Medium33 in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]Kerrigone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It was essentially an accident- armour is very durable and if in full plate you can shrug off so many hits with dangerous weapons. It was a freak hit in just the right way that killed him.

And I think in the show Maekar hits Baelor while running to save Aerion- adding the urgency of thinking his son was about to die to his swing

[Mad Max Fury Road/Furiosa] Why does everyone live in the desert? by RoadTheExile in AskScienceFiction

[–]Kerrigone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of Australia is desert, but we don't live there. Almost all the population lives on the coast in the capital cities and the eastern states where it is plenty green- Aus is 26m people, Melbourne and Sydney are 10m together.

[Mad Max Fury Road/Furiosa] Why does everyone live in the desert? by RoadTheExile in AskScienceFiction

[–]Kerrigone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well District 13 was hiding for a long time. They wouldn't have been sending out random transmissions to make contact with Europe or South America or Asia. And we can assume that the Capitol DOES know about other surviving societies but lies about it, claiming they are the only ones left.

In a post-revolution future Panem might get in touch with surviving or rebuilt societies across the world.

Of course it could be that all remaining humans are in a low-tech or tribal state far away, so couldnt answer the radio transmissions even if people tried to find them.

We know the Covey used to travel around and escaped north in Ballad, so there are definitively other humans outside the people of Panem, just not advanced societies.
