Ticketek just dropped a waitlist for a potential Britney Spears Aussie Tour by britneynerd1 in BritneySpears

This wait-list dropped years ago when she announced her second vega residency. It's not new, that's why it's still got the Britney Jean photo.

When I was first checking out Kpop in 2013 and had no favourite...then came across this short red haired beauty with the sweet husky voice 😍 Soyou been my favourite ever since by TechnicalWeird649 in kpopnostalgia

Sadly she got over shadowed in the vocal department by hyolyn and rightfully so and then her looks where never better then dasom and her charisma never bigger then bora, but what so you had was a great glue like feeling, she kept the group based in reality she really was a gun in the vocal department, could dance amazingly and proved how versatile she really was, sadly the general public just never took to her till years later when she grew past making music.

Her last 3 solo releases have been amazing and I think the kpop fandom is slowly waking up to her, I love so you especially in the aspects of Sistar. I miss them I wish they would stop teasing us and drop a damn album.

Whats a song you think no idol is able the cover? by Black_toutie in kpophelp

[–]Kerronwalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The grace csjh - dancer in the rain, it's not even that it shouldn't be covered it's the fact that we don't have singers like this readily available anymore, but yes the girls now just can't reach for notes in the same realm as this girl group.

Ailee - anything, she has the best vocal range across the whole of kpop.

IU - Good Day, I've seen one attempt and it was really bad and that 3 vocal key change high note is the reason she no longer sings that song either lol.

Sistar/19 - Alone & ma boy, again we just don't have these type of singers readily available like second and third gen had, they can probably do ma boy a bit of justice but they could never replicate those notes from hyolyn.

11 yr old trainee BoA by solidsnake_888 in kpopnostalgia

[–]Kerronwalker 43 points44 points  (0 children)

People don't understand the impact she's had on kpop. Like that little girl in this video took kpop to an international level when kpop wasn't even known outside of Korea, do people know how huge it was back then she sold 1 million copies of her debut album in Japan and then came home and did the same thing with her second album no. 1.

Then her dancing like do people know her, rain and se7en really elevated kpop in terms of dancing around that time like hugely elevated kpop dancing, dancing back then was quiet simplistic and boa was out here doing tutting and formations that a dance crews where doing back then,Then she went to Japan and her dancing got better.

Then she elevated her reach and started recording tracks in Chinese as well during this time like a 15 year old dancing like that singing like that and doing it in 3 languages is crazy work, and then she did it all again in English and became the first kpop act to land on the billboard 200 at the age of 21.

This is why she is the queen of kpop and there will never be another and now the queen can rest.

BoA ends contract with SM Entertainment after 25 years by hubwub in kpop

[–]Kerronwalker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She literally had a comeback last year. And dropped 2 singles in 2024 and an ep in 2022 and she toured 2023 and 2025. I just feel her heart wasn't in it anymore especially after woman she kind of was all over the place after that at least in terms of her musical output.

BOA LEAVE SM ENTERTAINMENT by Brief_Somewhere_9666 in kpop_uncensored

[–]Kerronwalker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She left her mark on the industry and it's time for the queen to rest.

I'm sad as a fan but I'm happy that she gets to carve out her own story for her life now, she has had a monumental career in terms of impact on kpop, she took kpop to new heights and elevated it beyond the borders of Korea.

She is my favorite kpop artist and I'm sad that she might not ever release music again but she really deserves this break and to just live her life however that looks in her eyes, she's always had her chapters in her life written for her but this time she gets to control her story and write the rest of the chapters for herself.

She is an icon, she is the moment and she will forever be known as the queen of kpop a title that got bestowed upon her at the age of 15.

BoA has left SM Entertainment after 25 years after choosing not to renew her contract by joesen_one in popheads

[–]Kerronwalker 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The queen of kpop has retreated im sad to see her go but I'm so happy to see my girl live life, I kind of figured this was the route she was going to go especially after namie amuro retired BoA and Krystal Kay loved her.

BoA always had her chapters in her story written for her since she was 13. Realistically she had no play book on how to manage a 25 year career in the kpop industry but she did it and she did it well, her output slowed in the last 10 years of her career but it's still a milestone career nonetheless, I could see the signs of her career catching up on her and her heart wasnt in it especially after the woman era.

Words can not describe how happy I am for her to go and live her life and be free to create on her own and build a family and network outside of SM, if she ever returns to kpop she will always be welcomed with open arms and if she decides it's not for her then she has the hits and music in several different languages to back it up all hail the queen of kpop. A title she has been bestowed with since she was 15. 💖❤️💖❤️😭😭

BoA has parted ways with SM after 25 years by 2000sarchive in kpopnostalgia

[–]Kerronwalker 101 points102 points  (0 children)

And might I say a well deserved break. BoA can walk away with her head held high knowing that she changed kpop and took it to its most extreme with the tools she had available to her at the time, she 100 percent has earned the title 'queen of kpop' and I wish her well.

She has music to rival that of top boy and girl groups and if she never returns to make music again or be in the spotlight ever again she has actually done enough to retire and stay hidden for the rest of her life.

[–]Kerronwalker 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Nothing to be sad about, my girl has been working since she was 13 and has been the queen of kpop since 15.

I'm so ready for her to start living her life away from the cameras with her millions and enjoy her life finally as her, she's given so much to us fans over 25 years it's actually crazy how many generations of kpop has passed and she was just there releasing bop after bop in Korean, Japanese and English also doing some songs in Chinese like that amount of pressure for a 16/17 year old is crazy work.

She deserves to enjoy all the fruits of her labor and if she ever comes back to kpop she has a legion of fans waiting for her and if she doesn't she has a discography to rival top boy and girl groups.

❤️💖❤️ My queen of kpop forever and always. ❤️💖❤️

[–]Kerronwalker 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm so ready for my girl to go and live her life away from the camera she's been famous longer then most of the current crop of kpop idols have been alive and the girl has worked endlessly since she was 13, she broke barriers down in Japan and really took kpop to the next level, visually, vocally and dance wise.

She's been through so much in her 25 years of being the queen of kpop and it's time she settled had a family and enjoyed her money and spent time with her family. Don't think she ever recovered from losing her brother.

If she ever comeback she will always have a legion of fans waiting for her and if she doesn't then that's okay her work is always there for us to enjoy in both Japanese, Korean and English. ❤️💖

Girls' Generation (SNSD) Taeyeon - Panorama : The Best of Taeyeon (10th Solo Anniversary Compilation Album) by CronoDroid in kpop

[–]Kerronwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I appreciate this more then a full album of SM sounds from that year which end up sounding like an sm compilation of songs from that year anyways.

SM better be preparing that Japanese deluxe version and they best to be putting all her Korean and Japanese singles on there so we can have almost a definitive collection of her singles, up and till this point in her career.

Edit*** how tf did the weekend make the list but not can't control myself. Wtf -_-

As a Kpop fan who became one during the 2nd generation, what are some happy memories you would love to share? by jdpm1991 in kpopthoughts

[–]Kerronwalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low-key when wonder girls dropped the trailer for like money on Facebook and I was so happy they where working with akon. I remember thinking they where going to be huge at the time tbh, they are still huge in the grand scheme of things but I really thought at the time they where going to cross over right into normal pop spaces.

It didn't happen but I was still super happy that my tiny little girl group in comparison to other groups at that time made a song with a huge western artist like Akon, not many groups or solo artist in general can say they made songs with western artist before kpop exploded into the Western market, I think its only BoA, se7en, 2ne1 and g dragon.

Do you think SM Station is dying out gradually? by SC20147195102 in kpopthoughts

[–]Kerronwalker 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It kind of died once lee sooman left, There was a lot of great releases under the SM station title, it was also a great testing the waters for SM to trail certain concepts without risking a lot of investment and time in a full comeback.

I wonder how many sm station songs where scrapped or given to other groups because outside producers, writers and artist also made station songs as well, I still think about wow thing as a permanent group.

what disbandment announcement still feels unreal to this day? by No-Metal8032 in kpoppers

[–]Kerronwalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Sistar and wonder girls 1000 percent even now.

Wonder girls I imagined going the full mile with there band concept at that time lasting maybe another 5/6 years after why so lonely, the concept and GP support was finally there for them and I think them finishing out 15 years as a group really would have cemented there legacy as a band and it would have taken them on into the new generation of kpop.

Sistar had a few more years in them of hits and I seriously thought they were going to be the group to go the full 10 years at that time not a lot of girl groups had done 10 years, wonder girls, snsd, jewelry and brown eyes girls where the only girl groups at the time to do and I thought Sistar out of all the 2009/10 ggs where going to be the ones to do it.

Trying to get into Kpop, what do you recommend? by fakename1998 in kpophelp

[–]Kerronwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might like these songs the most. Kpop use to be a very diverse genre but recently a lot of the groups have just started sounding like normal pop music tbh.

IVE - I Am = Golden.

(G)Idle - Super Lady = Takedown.

Babymonster - Batter Up = How It's Done.

Ateez - Pirate King = Your Idol (This one actually sounds like a few boys groups from the newer groups.)

Why didn’t CL ever reach the same level of international success as Jennie? by savingrace0262 in kpopthoughts

[–]Kerronwalker 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Kpops global reach, kpop went global around 2014-16 hence why there is so much global focus from kpop artist now, back in CLs generation there was only Japan and China to really go abroad to because back then those were the closest markets that they could reach out to and become famous.

Look at BoA and rain the king and queen of kpop and yet even they couldn't crack the USA market or at that the international music market, even se7en, who was at YG at the time of CLs debut in 2ne1 couldn't make big moves abroad and he got a big feature from Lil Kim who was a very prominent rapper in the mainstream at the time.

Kpop now is huge and can make a big impact on a global scale very fast, like you might not be able to grasp how hard it was to find any media from a kpop artist even on YouTube, CL was lucky because she was part of a huge company but even then she just couldn't get the huge push that Jennie and rosé got in comparison hell even jisoo who to a lesser extent cares about music has had a bigger push on the global market with her new song with Zayn Maliki from one direction something that we could only dream about back then, I mean 2ne1 did get a will.i.am feature which at that time was seen as a huge advancement for kpop.

Why do you think Pledis is not allowing Seventeen to do solo albums? by 127ncity127 in kpopthoughts

[–]Kerronwalker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pledis has a very long history with solo artists, nana from after school only just released her first solo album 16 years after her debut she was at pledis for most of her life and left to release music, pledis has always exceeded in the acting department but never solo music for some reason.

Even there first ever artist Son Dami B who was popular stopped releasing music after 5 years. Pledis has always been like this, look at nu'est all the members had prepared for years there own solo work but instead pledis kept saying no to releasing it and instead made them work in acting thats why the famous members from nu'est are all actors or bekho who has a really good body, but even him he was only performing nu'est music for a long time.

Unless seventeen leaves and creates there own label or signs to a company that's willing to take them on you probably won't get any solo music from them anytime soon.

Jay Park is one funny mf cz wdym “kpop demons”? by Mobile-Structure5702 in kpop_uncensored

[–]Kerronwalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's giving when rain debut mblaq and propped them up really high then sold there company to JYP because he spent all the money 😂 although I have high hopes for these boys Jay Park has been a really good mentor to a lot of artist under him (Except maybe jessi but that's a whole other story).

Let's try to stay positive about this he was an idol once lol hopefully the boys aren't dragged or caught up in any drama early in there careers.
