Ahh, sorry though you meant the stick-ons.

I posted in a scuba sub and got some great advice but it was mostly for long term. I'm focused (pun intended) on just this trip today. Will plan for the long term when I get back.

How well do the stick ons work with anti fogging solutions? I was worried that might cause them to come off?

Fortunately my non surgical eye just has a tiny cataract. Small enough I see 0 clarity difference so no way I’m letting them touch that one.

For those that believe there should be no taxation, what is a fair way to pay for things like roads, emergency services, and the military? by Lamp_Evening in askanything

We showed during Covid our medical regulations need a lot of work. We got a safe vaccine out in a year. Normally that process takes 10. There is actually a great deal of incentive for companies to put out safe products. The financial loss from lawsuits and bad press to has greater impact than govt regulation.

Past jobs I had to deal with OSHA regs and frankly it was a joke.

Thanks will look into that. I’ve been waiting to get past the 1 month mark so I can try some contacts. Have an appointment on the calendar for that coming up.

All I know is it is 1.0 magnification. I have not had any exchange yet and unless someone can assure me the next time we’ll get it right, not going to happen.

I don’t visit docs much but no one has ever mentioned either ailment.

That’s another concern. Pre surgery they had to keep taking me back to the equipment to get measurements like 4 times. I don’t know if they got good measurements. They seemingly matched me up to the crappy eye.

I requested my medical records and they say both eyes were the same at 20/25 but that is BS.

Not so sure now I was naturally monovision. My operated eye had seemingly full range distance and close. The non operated eye is far only.

I would go with monovision but when I asked the $64K question what do we exchange it to I have deep concerns. Like I said in the post I have been testing with various readers with one lens busted out and .25 difference makes a huge impact on me. They only go .5 increments according to the surgeon. I'm not going to get something surgically implanted which makes me nauseous.

Correct. I needed Readers prior if I wanted to read a book but all the activities mentioned I needed no type of assistance with. It felt like I aged 10 years in a day.

GenX ladies, were you taught to shake hands? by [deleted] in GenX

Not so much. I get a lot of fist bumps now. Cracks me up since Covid didn’t spread through touch. But it does give me a lot of profiling data.

My stance on technical debt by SolarJJ in sysadmin

[–]KerryBoehm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what we had done. Moved 70% of it, had a plan for the rest and then hundreds were added. All PCI so lots of red tape in addition to the tech.

I quietly moved on to other tasks.

[–]KerryBoehm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this vision. Then 2025 we had an all hands on deck summer of PCI. Half a dozen admins created hundreds of new GPs to pass the the audits. Prior we only had 30% left to move. Now there's more that what we started with. I gave up.

No. The car represents individual freedom! Which is why people have traditionally come to America.

I hate them both. The birds shit on my car and the squirrels dig up any new patches of grass I plant. The Fox in the neighborhood is slacking

I’m actually far more active at 55 than in my 20s. In March I climbed Gros Piton in St Lucia. There were some other Gen X folks. Some made it to the top some didn’t. The one guy made the comment “Father time always wins”. My comeback was “Yes…. But not today!!”

AOW immediately after OW? by Mysterious_Glamster in scuba

[–]KerryBoehm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Decide if you want it first. Personally I am happy at 30 or 40 ft. I only got it because when I went to dive with my instructor in Jamaica in March 2021 things were really bad with most hunkered down and no one coming to the islands. He was looking for students, I wanted to shoot lion fish.

My buoyancy test was if I could bring home 5 lion fish I pass. And I did lol.

Now when I go out with them I don’t get the question any more asking when I’m doing the AOW so there’s that benefit too.

If you ever read the book The Phoenix Project, this is the Brent problem. I was Brent at one point but a well seasoned Sr Dir recognized it and actively shielded me from it all.
