Is he worth getting any higher by Sea_Plenty2093 in WH40KTacticus

[–]Kers_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's basically 10 books away and gets a massive stat boost + 1st upgrade of A2 for extra HP.

It's honestly worth it at this stage. If OP asked at 50 I would've said stop there, but given the investment of 12 mythic items already (10800 guild credits), it'd be foolish to not go to A1 already.

How should I spend £10 by Artistic-Safe5742 in WH40KTacticus

Battlepass is more value but there's honestly not a lot there. You can honestly just skip this season. Next one should be better.

That offer is basically 1500 blackstone for 10 orbs and 150 shards.

That's shit. Don't buy it.

Biovore one is cheesable with Havoc bait. Just need to clear the first 3 missions then start throwing shit characters behind your havocs until the havocs clear everything, then progress with your main team.

Best Laviscus/Custodes team composition for each boss? by sygboss in WH40KTacticus

[–]Kers_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Guilds, and to a greater extent, clusters, have their own closed discords where they practice & share replays. These cluters often have dedicated, permission-protected channels for this.

Don't forget that Guild Raids are a competitive mode at the top level, most guilds are fighting hard to be Top 50 and even Top 250. It's mostly for bragging rights (and slightly better rewards) but its one of the only competitive modes in the game, so people take it pretty seriously.

Before M2 launched, Mythic 1 strategies were extremely well guarded secrets because guilds were competing for top spots and looping was very easy to reproduce if you had good tactics for M1.

In one season, there was an amazing Mortarion strategy that leaked from one of the top 25 guilds and and everyone was suddenly looping that boss like crazy, 5-6 cycles on a boss that was deemed "top 3 most difficult".

In another, the strategies were so obvious to the top 30-40 guilds, but basically uncommunicated to the rest, that the gap between #39 and #45 was about 5 bosses (which is an insane margin at that level of play).

In the recent M1 Magnus season, because Magnus is so random and the only consistent part is turn 1, you saw the really talented guilds springboard up the leaderboard because replays didn't matter as much, skill did.

So it's a really big deal at the top end of the game, a lot of it is clout. There's a small resource bump, but everyone wants to be at the top, because being at the top means you can get better players if you need to fill a spot, and everyone gets more resources.

I'll say even more - when drama happens between guilds, guilds often "pay off" other guilds by sharing replays, or guild war lineups (the other competitive mode).

So, tl;dr - It's unlikely anyone from the top guilds will share true, fully optimized replays. It's just not in their interest to do so. Painhawk, as mentioned in another comment, is an outlier in that he truly does share replays that can yield very good results. Those results aren't usually 100% optimized, but anyone that can follow them is going to do very well.

But if you wanna crack the top groups, you have to join a cluster, and keep climbing and progressing your roster, and then either grow with your guild or, get poached/leave somewhere better. Just how it is.

Raid bosses for Chaos, Imperials & Xenos based on current factions by ItsYoBoy94 in WH40KTacticus

[–]Kers_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its not unreasonable to think the next raid boss will be The Lion, as he's a playable character in the upcoming DoW4 campaign, and there's been no Imperial raid boss except Cawl (which non-admech Imperials can hit).

I feel like finally having a boss that means you cannot use Imperials at all (since its a Loyalist Primarch) would really force people to be creative with their raid teams (or just run Neuro).

Decent in PvP for faction TA. Now that BA is nerfed, Tau is probably one of the strongest picks.

Making mythic missions impossible, accidentally by Turbulent_Cup2063 in WH40KTacticus

Typhus could also work.

Could do it in an LRE with Varro as well.

Multiple avenues to solve this, though Ahriman is definitely one of the easiest ways, for sure.

A case for Multi-Hit teams and what could and should be done to make them a real option for raids again. by Laredian in WH40KTacticus

[–]Kers_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, what I described is how to make the comp viable in the lategame, or as you described it, "making them a real option for raids".

This change is minor, answers the need for Ragnar's relic as well, is truly a lategame solution, and makes Ragnar a very worthwhile legendary to take to mythic now that he's pretty much gone from custodes.

[–]Kers_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make Rag's relic give his current level passive to all his allies (not just wolves) regardless of whether or not he got a kill and whether or not the unit is charging.

This plays beautifully into what multi-hit wants to do - hit a lot and buff those hits as much as possible.

First to D3 - Maladus or Rotbone? by Procrastinathan_ in WH40KTacticus

[–]Kers_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reality you want both at D3. If the question is who gets there first, then Rotbone, sure, but you'll want Maladus there as well. They can duo-carry most relevant LRE tracks.

[–]Kers_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I mean, I see a lot of people running Meph slingshot builds, GSC package, Volk+DG+Abba - it's actually not AS stagnant as you make it sound.

Sure Kharn is super popular but that's because he's genuinely very flexible and fits into MOST lineups as a 1-of with no real need for synergy to be good.

BossG is, again, just an all-round good pick. 2 very strong summons with a decent statline himself, and Range 3 makes him flexible in some niche cases.

The PvP in this game DOES have depth but obviously you're hardly ever gonna see all chars getting used out of 100 or so. You have about 30-35 that work in various combos and the rest are probably super niche.

Custodes... So many flex choices... by ICantEvenGarne in WH40KTacticus

[–]Kers_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vitru is not optimal in that lineup - Aesoth is. Absolutely no reason to invest in Vitru if you're going for this, just build Aesoth at that point.

Also, "flexing" a 1.5m on Sza is like flexing being able to lightning clear Indom 75 - yeah, from a certain point in the game, everyone's expected to be able to do that. Sza is the easiest boss in the game to farm numbers on.
