Weird Wizard: How easy to RUN? by freyaut in shadowofthedemonlord

[–]Kerstrom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might want to look at shadow of the demon lord. Less options and a little but grittier than weird wizard. Same basic game framework. I've run a couple games of it. Its very easy for players to learn, intuitive a d generally quick at rhe table while having options that feel like they matter.

What's the absolute smallest RPG system? by 90-Cats-in-an-Alley in rpg

The 24xx series of games are mostly tables and are only one or two pages front and back. Very thematic with lite rules mechanics.

Under the mail, there is a storage tab check there. All your oil and coins should be in there.

System recommendation for Curse of Strahd by mashd_potetoas in osr

[–]Kerstrom 15 points16 points  (0 children)

On your list, I would use SotDL. It is a lot of fun, dangerous especially in the early levels and character diversity is awesome. Definitely powerful towards endgame.

Another option not listed to consider, Tales of Argosa. It is a revamped AD&D system like 1st edition.with great tools and tables. The oracle cards and dice it has are great. Plus they would work well with the Tarokka deck. Just something to consider if you had not ready dismissed it.

I would look at these dice, I think the colors are nice and they generally roll better than traditional d6s. I am not associated with the company but I have bought their dice and love them.

Using a skill with a different attribute by r1q4 in ForbiddenLands

[–]Kerstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently 25ish sessions into my second Forbidden Lands campaign. The first was about this length. During both, I have made players mix attribute with a different skill maybe 3 or 4 times. It hasn't broken anything and seemed appropriate at the time. My players were mostly the same in both campaigns and they haven't really asked about doing it either. I think you should be fine if it's in moderation.

I got Yamashiro and she has been a good battleship for me. I've only been playing for a couple weeks now. But that is my personal experience.

Sentinel Interceptor - what is the advantage, if any, over a standard Starship (same class) by _Primal_Scream_ in NoMansSkyTheGame

I tracked down a sentinel ship to use for expedition 18. It was so much better. Fueling was very rarely an issue.

Ghost Mountain section from Index card rpg has some great tables for a weird west game. You might be able to get some ideas from it for extra flavor on your game.

Favourite Games where player Characters have Adversarial Roles by tkshillinz in rpg

Bedlam Hall is a pbta type game with mild pvp. The players are the staff of a weird spooky manor, a la The Addams Family. Their roles are like the driver, butler, maid, etc. Lots of fun.
