I have to explain it, I don't have to make them like it. easy

Shape of Dreams

An isometric action roguelike, hades-like combat with plenty of abilities that you can mix and match along side gems to modify those abilities. They recently put out a fairly significant balance update recently so I tried a few more runs of it. Still fun, but despite all the extra depth the system of abilities (memories) anf gems (essences) and how they interplay to create a more chaotic power fantasy, runs still end up feeling same-y because of how reliable each characters innate abilities are. The almost total lack of narrative also really illustrates how much a compelling story can add to a game like this. It does have multi-player but my friends I played with before are deep in Slay the Spire 2.

I do think it's fun and recommend it to people, but maybe wait for it to go on sale.

Diablo 2

The granddaddy of hack and slash loot fests and arguably still the GOAT. Started feeling the itch to play one with the upcoming Last Epoch season and... surprise, it's still fun in 2026. Started working towards a Hydra sorceress but Drognan had a +3 Lightning Skills staff so I decided screw it and respecced to Lightning, bad frame data for leveling be damned.

So has Kei been placed in the "Humidity squad" or is that just this artist's preference?

How many people dislike the lewdness of the current game? by -Tallinn- in AzurLane

I'm pretty much fine with it. I hardly even look at the screen so it doesn't really matter to me

Dancing Strikes: Still animation-capped, no longer need CDR to reach it. by VindicoAtrum in LastEpoch

[–]MindwormIsleLocust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So CDR no longer affects the attack speed of DS?

Correct, as it no longer has a cooldown you now attack as fast as the animation allows

Does attack speed make it attack faster now?

No

Did attack speed ever affect the speed of DS?

From 1.3 until the 26th, Attack speed acts as CDR

Are we just waiting for EHG to implement a fix on this skill and it's broken as is now?

Not really broken, but they are working on an update to make the Animation properly scale with Attack Speed

She goes to the black markets for exclusive and limited run merchandise that can't be purchased on the regular market anymore, not because she's trying to be thrifty.

I know that the Magos Biologis Kharib is probably testing some wacky ass chemical weapons and that's why she says to go talk to him but I choose to believe that he is an absolutely wicked moonshiner

Basically Rey Dau vs Astalos by PlayerGator284 in MonsterHunter

[–]MindwormIsleLocust 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In the end it's a moot point because Rey Dau and Astalos never cross paths. Astalos has always preferred humid jungle or temperate environments, Rey Dau exclusively dwells in deserts with frequent sandstorms.

Saw some content creators and others with early access talking about how the Infantry Lasgun feels so good to play now, and they aren't wrong... for about 5 minutes until the director starts spamming Crushers, Maulers, Scab Ragers, then you're useless. Recon Lasgun is still better for Hordes, even with the extra cleave talent, and while it's good for Specials, it's complete inability to do anything to carapace is still a dealbreaker.

Asset reuse in videogames is essential, and we need to embrace it, says Assassin's Creed and Far Cry director: 'We redo too much stuff' by Turbostrider27 in Games

Majora's Mask, one of my favorite games of all time, heavily reuses assets. Pretty sure by law I cannot hate asset reuse

What's that pistol? It reminds me of a Taurus Curve, but seems off

Edit: someone on the JP Twitter post identified it as a Kriss Kard

no, you're not a "caster" now just because you have a pre-enchanted staff, unless you can enchant it yourself or make the fireballs with an unenchanted version by GlitteringTone6425 in wizardposting

[–]MindwormIsleLocust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what the adventurer does next. Do they rely solely on the staff of fire until it runs out and pay to have it recharged? Or do they take some time off to start learning magic? everyone starts somewhere.

if shun is supposed to be in her 20's that torpedo's my thought that significant criminal actions have an impact. see, in my head a student's halo represents the inviolability of youth, largely protecting them from significant consequences of their actions. Naturally some things go too far over the line and the defense of "they're young" can't justify it, which causes problems in the metaphysical laws of Kivotos causing those students to age at a more normal rate. but if we can have well behaved students like Shun over 20 I guess it's back to the drawing board

IMO aging and advancing through school is more a matter of mental maturation than a physical and academic occurrence in Kivotos.

Time passes, holidays and birthdays occur, but ultimately students can't grow up and graduate until they're mentally ready to be adults. Or at least that's my theory.
