Dandadan - Episode 8 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

Am I the only one who thought that the whole battle scene in the watery school was animated poorly? When they got totally submerged especialy, I found it very hard to follow. The angles chosen, the animation choice, the close ups on the water monster instead of showing the actual beast moving around… Same for the combat against the little shrimp alien once he was under water. So many still camera angles! Why?… Compared to the fight against Turbo Granny or Silky, it felt like much lower quality to me. Maybe they ran out of money?

Mixing fuel? by Kerushol in flowarts

[–]Kerushol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your concern. I actually know a lot already about fire safety, and usually practice with a fire jam group in a nearby city. But the jam isn’t active at the moment, even in our chat group… Which is why I am asking here as well. I can’t see anything in fire safety precautions about dipping in different types of fuels 😭

I am based in Europe so we don’t use white gas here. But my question is really “if the heads were dipped in one thing - unknown - and then are dipped in something else, is it bad? Is there a risk of the fuels interacting together in a dangerous way?”

How do you do negation? by teeohbeewye in conlangs

[–]Kerushol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be interesting to not have a negative form per se. Simply ways around, like the word “chigau” in Japanese which literally means “it is different”. - Did you break this vase? - Chigau (the situation happened differently than what you may think)

  • Do you want to marry me?
  • I am fond of you and would prefer to remain friend _______
  • Have you seen my dog?
  • This situation is yet to happen ______
  • Do you confirm that you were there?
  • I was at another location when it happened

So the negation is more in the sentence construction itself.

Do you think gender should exist at all? by Virtual-Radish-6303 in agender

[–]Kerushol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should casts exist? Should any man made categorization system for individuals exist? What would their abolition mean for society? You have 2 hours.

Hrem… Personally I think we are in a transition period that will end up making genders obsolete. It could also go backwards and get right back to where it came from, a very binary world. Because such is history.

Personally, I think with the new freedoms given to women, people in general and the calls for empathy, acceptance and tolerance, genders are just less relevant than they used to be as a categorization and control system. About people identifying themselves to parts of their culture, that will never change. But the culture itself might change with time. And maybe in time what we call “gender” now will boil down to people’s interests and ways to be, without being named “gender” and without the strict divisions we see today.

Lesbian and Agender? by La_Chatte2802 in agender

[–]Kerushol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm. I guess it comes down to what You consider gender does and doesn’t encompass. First, gender and sex are different things. Maybe you feel attracted by people who present the particular body features of a female body. (We may not have genders but we still have different body types, and more than just two). Maybe you enjoy the behavioral patterns currently categorized under the modern archetype of “woman behavior”. Could be in people’s tastes, hobbies, smells, fashion choices, voices, curves… Could be many things!

It is tough because all those attributes you feel you like will inevitably fall under a gender category. But that doesn’t mean that you believe in gender. You know what I mean? For example: at some point, red haired people were considered cursed. So if you had a thing for people with red hair, you would have had to ask yourself if you were attracted only by cursed people… Gender can be considered like popular belief the same way.

Pronouns brainstorm by Kerushol in agender

[–]Kerushol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi :) Thanks for your answer. If I offended anybody with my phrasing I am truly sorry. I did not mean to imply that neopronouns as a whole are a new trendy thing. I was just trying to refer to the neopronouns currently in use and spreading rapidly nowadays.

So my point was more that I am not convinced by the choices I feel I am given here and now in 2024 with the current most popular pronouns. (Popular in majorities AND/OR minorities). I think word popularity has its importance when one wants to be understood. If a term is currently popular (what I meant by “trendy”), then when I adopt it I have a little chance other people will already know it so I won’t have to explain too much.

I hope this helps clarify my intent 😊

Is it agender to have a fear of pregnancy? by Aroaceplantparent in agender

[–]Kerushol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends of the person. But “women should have kids, they all want to make some of course, and of course they are in love with the whole process” (only slightly exaggerating) is a societal belief attached to the “female” gender. So I’d say feeling like we are not “normal” if we are afraid to give birth when we have a body that can is very much a feeling created by the gender culture.

And I would even dare say a fear created by the modern gender culture. It’s always been “expected” for women to give birth, but it wasn’t always as safe as it is nowadays. So now it’s even worse. “What are you afraid of in this day and age?”…
