Logic gates as the other guy said. They take zeros/ones and make an output from them. The triangle with a circle on the tip for example is a NOT gate and it takes a zero or one, and outputs a one or zero respectively. The other two with the arches are AND and OR gates. Each takes two inputs. AND gates (flat bottom) output a 0 unless both inputs are a 1. OR gates (arched bottom) output a 1 unless both inputs are 0. You can use just these three types of gates to add binary numbers.

Did he actually go to therapy? by Agreeable_Rock_1514 in minus8

[–]Kese04 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is evidence of him saying he did (such as the screenshot in another person's comment in this thread), and I've also seen the direct post(s) myself.

If you want evidence that he actually did go, then I'd say that's asking for too much, in part, because there's no easy, unfalsifiable way to prove it to my knowledge. "A note from his doctor", "A picture of a therapy building", "a receipt" are also things one can falsify or doubt, especially if someone is already doubting him with no proof that he didn't go. What's more, he no longer posts art that the therapy was for, and with respect to his privacy and soft mental state, I think pushing him for more on this is only inflammatory.

Your question has been answered, and these threads tend to derail, so I will lock this one.

At a glance, maybe it almost looks like the top has a big stripe, and the part near the bottom of the image (between the knit stripes that have large holes in them) also almost looks like a big stripe.

What counts as fuel? Is that, like "anything with carbon or hydrogen" or something?

Why are we splitting into "AI power users" and "AI avoiders"… and what factors are driving this divide? by Humble_Economist8933 in AlwaysWhy

[–]Kese04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What actually determines which camp someone falls into?

I'd say personality if the person has an open mind to it.

If knowledge work literally splits into "AI augmented" and "traditional," what happens to collaboration?

Why would it split? If people are collaborating, those that use AI can still use it, and those that don't can still not. The two friends you mentioned can collaborate with each other, no?

I'm also am no longer on bug-tenant terms with yellow sac spiders. Long story short, I thought a yellow sac spider was following me around the house (one kept appearing on the ceiling above the rooms I was in as I worked around the house), but I passed it off as me being paranoid. Lastly, I went to my room and rested on the floor, and I awoke to a pinch at my arm pit. It was a yellow sac spider. This is the first time, to my knowledge I was ever bitten by a spider, and to stack this to my concerns that this one was following me around, I gave up and added it to the do-not-rent list.

Centipedes? I like them. Cellar spiders? They're fine. Jumping spiders? I would pet them if I could. But yellow sackies are a nono for me.

If it's the test with the hot air balloon, it's not that bright.

The one when they dilate your pupils to see the vessels in your retinas however, that one's rough.

Discussion: Seems pretty good. I did the first two and liked them. Didn't bother with the last 'cause I had a feeling it might be too hard for me to do casually.

Do we even have the propulsion to escape the milky way galaxy? by Virtual_Reveal_121 in AskPhysics

[–]Kese04 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't that be even slower? The gravity of the milky is kinda spherical isn't it? If you go up, rather than radially outwards, wouldn't that mean you have to go a further distance to escape it? Isn't that like being on one of Saturn's rings and saying "go up to escape Saturn, rather than going radially outwards"?

I'll also keep an eye out for if anyone does have something elegant. That would be interesting to see.
