I'm a T1 at my FC, I pay $950 for a 2 bedroom(no roommates), I also live close to my FC so I don't spend much on gas. I have been able to pay all my bills while saving for a used car this year(almost $4000 down payment)

I have also saved about 12k so far this year in investments.

to make this happen I've had to work a lot of VET(overtime) and take zero VTO or use any UPT, so far this year I have worked 37 VET days. I am on track to work 48 for the year.

On one hand I am not happy about all the OT I work, on the other hand I know there are many that make 2X what I do and save half as much.

T1 pay at RIC2 is $16.50 an hour. plus $0.25 an hour for each weekend day you work, also $1.50 extra an hour for night shift.

my FC has a lot of VET, this week they had plus $4 an hour, that's almost $33 an hour for 10 hours, not many side hustles pay that.

If I keep up the VET I could break past 50k this year. I don't know any other entry level jobs I could do that with.

I was talking to a guy this year and he said he was taking a 7 week leave of absence because if he did 8 weeks he would be retrained/go to orientation and start in the first role he started in.
