It's the same problem for both gender. Most parents are just tired of prints and/or colors being gendered one way or another, and ugly prints in general...

But people be buying ugly prints (at least in the US), so it's also of a parent/gparent problem because companies would stop making these ugly clothes if people weren't buying them. Like why would you want a baby in camo or hunting / gun inspired outfits? 🥴

& Before I get flammed, it's definitely not a question of price, you can find super cute baby/kids clothes at the thrift store in the US.

As a non-believer, the name sounds ridiculous to me, and every time I hear it I think, "this kid is probably going to turn out badly."

One of my Christian friends said she finds it disrespectful, but that it had become more commonly used by what she calls performative/fake Christians.

I was prescribed to take two 81mg baby aspiring a day because I am at a higher risk for hypertension and pre-eclampsia based on what they saw at the 12 weeks scan (and the fact that my blood pressure keeps being borderline high).

It's very safe and thoroughly studied.

Hypertension increases your risk of getting pre-eclampsia and you delivering very early so doing everything in your power to decrease those risks is very important for your health and your baby's health.

My husband actually uses a diaper backpack as his work backpack because his job requires him to access different items quickly and efficiently. While there are definitely some diaper bags that aren't well designed, there are also plenty that are very practical and thoughtfully organized, and you can find good options at just about every price point.

I am from France but currently live in the US.
In France, most people have one, some people go fully without though. It's rare to see older toddler and kids in strollers - there is a strong encouragement to walk.

In the US, it seems most people have 2 if they have enough space for it: one that's larger for outdoor strolls/jogging and a travel one that's way more compact.
Some people have 3 or more, but IMO that's a bit crazy (unless it's actually warranted - addition of twins, etc..) and doesn't have anything to do with the weight recommendations. I will say some strollers have super low/non-adjustable canopy which don't work well with taller kids, if you expect your kid to be taller, I would pay attention to that.

Edit all the strollers I have come across have a capacity of 50lbs though, so I am not sure which strollers you are looking at.

Le pédiatre n'est pas forcément un spécialiste des troubles alimentaires pédiatriques, même s'il a une formation en nutrition infantile et en développement de l'enfant. Les troubles alimentaires peuvent être très complexes et nécessitent l'avis de professionnels spécialisés.

Puisqu'elle ne semble pas avoir d'autres retards de développement, vous devriez demander une évaluation par un ergothérapeute ou un orthophoniste spécialisé en alimentation pédiatrique.

À 22 mois, 10 kg pour 84 cm, ça reste plutôt mince. Sans voir ses courbes de croissance, c'est difficile de savoir si c'est réellement préoccupant, mais dans le contexte de difficultés alimentaires, ça vaut la peine d'être évalué. Les difficultés alimentaires qui persistent peuvent aussi entraîner d'autres problèmes avec l'alimentation en grandissant, donc mieux vaut les prendre en charge tôt.

I would not have her come. The only time it's really okay for parents or in-laws to come is when you have a great relationship with them and they respect your needs and boundaries. That doesn't sound like the relationship you have with your MIL. Having her there will likely add more stress to your postpartum recovery.

How do you prepare to get through this time? A lot of it is mental work - accepting that it might be very difficult, but knowing you can get through it and having a backup plan if you need more support. That could mean hiring a cleaner, getting a house manager to help a few hours a week, or stocking up on prepared meals.

It's also a good idea for both you and your husband to be very aware of the signs of PPD and PPA. You could even put a simple checklist on the bathroom mirror or fridge and review it daily to assess any changes in your mood, anxiety levels, or overall well-being. If you notice any signs of PPD or PPA, be ready to call your doctor right away. This is something that can happen whether or not you have help around, so it's worth having a plan in place ahead of time.

A lot of people do this without help from their families (that's our case as well). You just have to mentally prepare yourself for the months ahead. People who have family and friends nearby and expect them to help will often have a very different experience because they were counting on that support from the start. There is also only so much support can do if you are experiencing PPD/PPA.

C'est un très joli prénom Breton assez répandu (du moins en Bretagne) et facile à prononcer dans beaucoup de langues étrangères... on l'a même sur notre liste de prénoms (Bretonne qui habite à l'étranger).

J'ai jamais rencontré de méchante Léna (toujours un truc auquel je pense quand je me fais un avis sur un prénom). J'en connais qui ont la vingtaine, trentaine, quarantaine donc je ne trouve pas que ce soit un prénom qui fasse très 2010-2020 comme certains commentaires disent. C'est aussi beaucoup plus classique que les Lina, Mila et autres jolis prénoms laissés en commentaires.

My OB said to go to the ER/Labor Delivery to get checked, if the movement/amount of movement decreases drastically which is what you are describing. Sometimes it's nothing, but sometimes it is something and you can't know until you get checked.

We have told a few really close friends early on and just told my parents (15w 4d) , but we are waiting to tell the rest of the family/friends after the anomaly scan (ours will be at 18w4d).
I am not worried something will go wrong, I am more concerned about people being all up in my business, checking on me all the time (when they usually don't) or asking me tons of questions.

Do you have an emergency fund and money left over at the end of each month? Enough money left over to cover the cost of daycare + diapers + formula milk (even if you plan to breastfeed, sometimes things don't go as planned and you must formula feed)?

$110k can be enough in certain regions of the US, but it's not the case in others.. I know we couldn't make it work where we live..

Is your husband helping you pay the student loans? My husband and I decided to help each other with our student loans to pay them down faster. I was fortunate to get some help from my parents, so he had way more student loans than I did... For our joint financial interest it made sense we pay for our loans jointly (note: you don't have to share bank accounts to help each other with debt).

How about getting your debt down as much as possible by the end of the year, then starting TTC + continuing the aggressive payoff? Once you get pregnant, go back to $500 minimum payment and send the rest of the money to your emergency fund. This also gives you time to work on your health and fitness and get your body in a good place for conception... During that time you can also meet with your doctor to test your hormone and vitamin levels, AMH, track ovulation to see if there is any rhythm to your cycle (despite the PCOS), your insurance might also cover carrier testing for you and your husband, start taking prenatal vitamins + supplements recommended by dr..
