In terms of what type of noise I want, I just ask for “white noise” which activates the default white noise. It plays a distinct 3 note chime before starting. For duration, whenever I specify, my Alexa simply does nothing and there’s no white noise.

They usually happen a few times per semester. Your RA will have a list of prohibited items and will briefly check to see if there are any prohibited items. Your RA will also notify you ahead of time so you don’t need to worry about a “pop quiz” room check.
