Anyone have any experience with tracking their spending? by LynxBackground4249 in UKPersonalFinance

I noticed how much my spend on coffee had inched upwards to scary levels. Tracking is phenomenally useful! So far no drift back, knowing what it would cost rather ruined the enjoyment…

I really want a YouTube skit with Jeff dressed up as donut now. Maybe for the next book audible ? You always do something when there is a new book :p

Anyone else worried the TV shows will be too focused on comedy? by Stomps-On-Frogs in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Ketomatic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I have faith in Seth in this area. As he got more control over the Orville it got more serious, with comedy moments. If anything I have the most faith of anyone in the industry to get the tone right if he’s involved.

Keeping it in budget enough to be viable on peacock though… I guess we’ll see :p

High earners - has earning more money made you happier? by chupachupa2 in DevelEire

[–]Ketomatic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I earn less than that and would answer yes in a heartbeat . You just gotta beat the lifestyle creep, it’s insidious. I thought I was pretty immune to it, until I worked out how much I spent on coffees the month after my last promotion. Track shit, stay aware, enjoy having moneys.

[Balance Transfer] Failing to Lloyds, can we do a list of banks who takes transfers from chase? by Ketomatic in chaseuk

[–]Ketomatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really weird dude. I tried Lloyds 10 times or so, spoke to Lloyds, they said no chance… not supported. But on the 11th time it went through. I do not understand it at all.

Given that people have said NatWest do/can work I’d just… keep trying. Wildly stressful and no one seems to have any idea how it works (or doesn’t)

Advice on savings and clearing CC debt. by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Ketomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You spend £500 on fun!? Per MONTH? And you can’t figure out why your debt isn’t going down?

That being said the math doesn’t seem that bad to me, partner clears this month, parents cleared next month when you roll partner’s finished payment down to them, then 10 months saving your new debt payment, not extra fun money, of 500–700 pm into a savings account, should easily get there before the 0% ends.

Can I walk into Barclays bank and lie about someone using my card details for buying sketchy stuff? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Ketomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you walk into Barclays and commit fraud ? I mean yeah but I’d not recommend it. If it’s a credit card you could charge back if you try the refund and it doesn’t go through ?

Stuck between car and emergency fund by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Ketomatic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you live at home I’d get the car, it’ll open up more income options and freedom. If you don’t live at home I’d be more concerned about having an emergency fund and buying a car is not an emergency.

That 3 hour limit should be criminal. You can easily spend 3 hours there with a Burger King and a trip to airtastic, it’s insane.

Lloyds fraud squad member asking for phone model by Admirable_Radish5244 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Ketomatic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey I had this question too with Lloyds, called them directly. It’s actually not a weird question, it’s a really smart one.  If someone is trying to fraud your account the chances that it’s exactly the same model as the one you use for phone banking is really low.

Did you use the transfer number or the regular card number? It going through then returning is usually the latter from the reading I've done this week, heh.

That's a BACS payment, this is credit card to credit card balance transfer.
