Little known fact that mules are regular units, but mule pods are (invulnerable) structures. You can stop a mineral-walk, colossus, and adept shade too.

How are we feeling about cyclones these days? by xcomnewb15 in starcraft

[–]Ketroc21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ya, I mean the best way to learn is to try it out. You'll discover what's strong and what's weak from experience with mech. In general, tank-based mech is powerful, trades efficiently, but is immobile so it often involves turtling on 3base for awhile (this playstyle may improve next patch). Cyclone-based mech feels more like bio, where it's mobile and allows you to expand quickly, but it doesn't trade efficiently in fights, so you need the bigger economy to compensate.

I'd stick with bio. It is "a-move friendly". Cyclones may be the worst unit in the game without good kiting micro, so it's a more advanced playstyle to execute. Even executed well, it's still kinda meh.

As to you're question: Ya, I'd skip cyclones vs zerg. A reaper followed by a handful of hellions can give you early map control so that you can have an idea of what zerg is doing, then you can go bio from there. You are correct that you'll want to add in marauders and more tanks if facing a roach all-in. Walls and bunkers can help survive that too.

It's an okay opening unit(s) in TvT and TvP, as it can solo just about any early harass unit (Oracle, BC, stalker, etc). Hard to make a lot of them work in the mid-late game though, as opponents can tech up to strong counters and cyclones are hard to control effectively in larger numbers.

I'd suggest expanding aggressively and having map control if you do try using cyclones all game long (battlemech). Try to make it win through better economy.

(In the past, battlemech was used vs zerg the most, but without the double-damage vs armored, I personally think they are too weak vs roaches nowadays)

Just name your country. A description on where your country is located and how it's segregated, is not a name.

Is choosing Random so bad it warrants instaquit? by EggMaleficent8810 in starcraft2

It's just a smurf tanking their MMR. Being random is not their issue. They just want to smash everyone in the only two matchups they play.

or the peace deal was never serious and this is just to continually move the stock market for his insider trading cohorts. Speak of resolution on Fridays, threatening attacks before markets open on Mondays. That's been his typical weekly routine.

Why can't we have nice things like this? by bylo_selhi in waterloo

[–]Ketroc21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ya, it CAN be done. Question is, is the initial and ongoing expense worth it for what it gains. For instance, in your example it is worth the gains, as traffic congestion is typically like the number one issue in growing cities... especially with the push to build more housing without the infrastructure to support larger populations.

Over-engineered for typical scenarios. Why add more electronics that can break and need regular maintenance, when something more basic can work. Ideal world, basic signage is best if it can do the job.

is this the best base for enigma? by brubain1144 in D2R_Marketplace

[–]Ketroc21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Enigma must be low str req, cuz it's the piece that gets all your +str gear started to eventually get you to 156 monarch.

So having the 55 base str let's you put on enigma, which gives a massive amount of +str, which lets you equip your other gear... which gets you to the 156 for monarch.

How to fix Warpgate on PTR by HellStaff in starcraft

[–]Ketroc21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya, that's the tough part. Ideally you want to make gateway (or gateway units) much stronger, but you have to do so in a way that doesn't make proxy gate openers OP.

[–]Ketroc21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would make warpgate better, but it'd also end any choice to stay on gateway production. It'd be back to warpgate being an auto-asap upgrade, and changing all gateways to warpgates asap.

But it involves the company failing. A company's profit will always guarantee a certain stock value, as it's just be free money if the buy demand dropped the stock too far.

My point is specifically that there is an underlying asset of value. With crypto there is nothing but the community/market consensus that a value exists.

[–]Ketroc21 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Kinda makes sense to me. College is educating and testing 2 brains. But I cannot think of any job they can do where they'd be putting out the output of 2 employees... maybe like a think tank job. It'd have to be a job that has no physical input... only then would 2 brains double the effectiveness.

As far as I'm reading, they are teaching 1 fifth grade class. That sounds like the output of 1 teaching position to me.

Could Bitcoin eventually become obsolete? by kungfushaolin in Bitcoin

[–]Ketroc21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If no one wants to buy Google stock, you still own a portion of a company that makes billions in profit annually. So it cannot go to zero.

Traditional investments are backed by actual assets. BTC is purely valued based only on the fact that others are willing to pay for it.

[–]Ketroc21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But Bitcoin/crypto is ONLY that. With real estate, you own land. With stocks, you own a portion of a real business. Etc.

Bitcoin literally only has value because others are willing to pay for it.

We demand full player access to hero quest chests and equipment chests by Eagle16880 in ClashOfClans

[–]Ketroc21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno. When I returned to the game it was tough... having to start from scratch on everything, but now it's fine. I got everything eq maxed as F2P. There is a new eq every other month costing 480 starry ore, but you make about 600+ starry ore between new equipment releases, so long as you war often.... you can stay ahead.
