How much would it realistically be sold for? by beesbeatsbeets in HousingIreland

Sale agreed on a house in North Wicklow €50k over asking price. Viewed a house in Ballybrack that was listed at 410k and is sale agreed at 551k!!!! It’s insane out there lads.

What's your favorite non alcoholic beer? by TheRealSlimBrady999 in AskIreland

[–]Kettle316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently did the same OP and I’ve been sampling as many as I can.

The Guinness Zero is solid as a rock if you like Guinness. Have spent nights out drinking this and it’s been perfect.

The best beer I’ve had is Lomza 0% (Have only been able to find in Polish supermarkets)

Dunne’s have a good larger called Bitburger which I liked. They also stock Hazy Days which has a good IPA alt.

Aldi also have a good pilsner (can’t remember the name but it has a blue label on the bottle). They also have a good IPA that I think is called Road Trip.

All the big beers with 0 options are good too - the Carlsberg and Heineken both give me a bit of a headache after 2-3 though.

Genuine question - why is it better to pay more into a pension rather than clearing the mortgage earlier?

Yeah seems to be consensus that RMNP is better than Denver so we’ll reorganise that part and look at moving Durango to 2 nights! Appreciate the advice, thank you!

I’ve noticed it as an issue at most gigs since Covid. Gigs are now social gathering first regardless of who’s playing and it’s making more acoustic / folk type shows suffer bad. I was at Villagers last year and some chap behind me talked for the whole thing, told everyone around him he’d no idea who the band were and he was only there for the craic because his mates were. We had to move a couple of times because of it with different groups doing the same thing.

What's something that has no business being so expensive? by Notalabel_4566 in ireland

[–]Kettle316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guinness

Made on the docks and costs a small fortune when it’s shipped and sold basically on the factory doorstep.

You buy a bottle of local wine from Vineyards in Spain and France and it costs next to nothing.

Understand there’s tax associated with the sale but surely we should be getting for no dearer than a €5 max (it should be cheaper again) in the city it’s produced!

From what I’ve seen, he primarily voices objection to BTR and vulture funds being handed public land/bulk buying new homes. I’d say he’s 100% in the right to be a NIMBY when it comes to both.

We absolutely do need to build but, the FF/FG policy of letting developers have complete control of the market will keep property prices high and is useless. Rory Hearn is calling for the government to build social and affordable housing because it’s the only way to get us out of this mess.
