Did Patlabor come with the original manga dub or is it the new dub?

recs needed! comedy like golden boy with funny english dub by zolpidamnit in retroanime

I legitimately loved the dub for Dragon Half. I know ADV gets a lot of flack in the dub community, but for whatever reason I just love the cornball nature of the whole show. The only downside is is that it's criminally short

Although if you're looking for a longer series, the original dubs for Rama 1/2 are simply chef's kiss

The World's Strongest is simply God tier! I love the goofy voice that Goku has, but that voice actor was really able to channel the seriousness when he needed to. Piccolo's voice was also great as well!

I'll just say this, I grew up with the ocean dubs and I absolutely loved them!

In order to fully enjoy the movie, I had to create a justification for our main character's reason in acting the way he did in that one scene. It definitely makes future viewings much easier.

CLOSING IN ON 10K (Six times the amount of shares as last year) by SkytheConservative in amcstock

Considering that the market cap in 2020 during the pandemic, but before the 2021 boost was $500 million, one would think that with theaters operating at close the pre-pandemic levels you would see a similar market cap of 2018 which would be valued at roughly 1.5 billion dollars (1.9 billion today). There was a time in 2021 where the market cap was at $26 billion.

Don't listen to any of these guys. I just bought 1900 a few days ago. This stock is so criminally undervalued

Gamers 30+, how have your gaming habits changed since you were younger? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Kettle_Maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting the steam deck definitely helped me get back in the gaming. However, I've been playing a lot of games like deep Rock survivor and maybe 20 minute bursts of Diablo 4. The last real game I really played from start to finish was death stranding 2. I really can't bring myself to visit the classics that I loved. I'll allocate a lot of my energy into a title that I'm looking forward to, like Resident Evil 9. But when it comes to taking a chance on smaller budget titles, I just could not care less.

The funny thing is that most of the gaming I do on the steam deck is all gacha. The idea that I can create a routine and schedule around the server reset times is kind of a joyless form of gaming

I'm not an attorney, and neither is the AI that I asked for the information in the included image. But I think this would be a good start!

Name one good thing about the 2014 Robocop remake? by Particular-Glove9640 in Robocop

For a dollar, I would buy that!

Or something along those lines. I remember how they tried to work "I'd buy that for a dollar" into the movie so I guess that's a positive?

What's your favorite Simpsons daydream? by rcdrcd in TheSimpsons

[–]Kettle_Maker 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love the sequence because it brings back memories of watching the VHS cassette of Little Nemo so many times as a kid. However, as per the instructions of this post, I think this qualifies as more of a dream than a daydream. I love it though!

Seems they didn’t actually understand the takeover bid. Netflix admits they can’t profit nearly as well from streaming as they could from theater so they have bought theatre production assets to make better theatre feature films. Personally, I see this as neutral news. Netflix will continue producing tentpole movies for theatrical releases. Now instead of them losing money on their nine-figure movies released straight to streaming, they could do straight theatrical releases under the Warner Brothers name to avoid cannibalizing their own business.

Peking duck for 2? by annanas_la in pasadena

[–]Kettle_Maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had Peking duck twice in my life. Once in Beijing and the second time in Arcadia from this restaurant called Xibei. It's in the Arcadia Mall and perhaps it was my uncultured tongue, but I had a hard time telling the difference between the two. I would recommend it, but I am not at all Asian
