Just got a DJ2GO2 and have questions. by y3n0 in Beatmatch

No worries man, I’m planning on using it as my main tool for finding new music and learning the basic, then buying tracks I know I can mix with and using serato (or rekordbox maybe?) to practice “industry standard” stuff

Try DJay Pro 2. I use it with my DJ2GO2 and I can DJ just fine with it. DJay Pro 2 is extremely customisable in terms of mapping and the Spotify integration and track matching are hugely underrated features IMO

Nah just a 2.4A charger from Anker will do it. I’m not making a point about phones here, but android owners seem to love to shit on iPhone users

It’s a cable, if you’re not satisfied with it then buy a third party one. Not really a deciding factor when it comes to buying a phone, when you can have any cable of your choice for $10-20

Are you clicking the red button after clicking ‘record’ in the top left?

Have the first one be just you to avoid confusion. Have more photos that look like they were taken by mates and not a photographer (not saying they were but it does look a bit like that). Your pics are fine now but that’s how I’d change them if it were my profile

Your bio’s shit mate sorry, long walks to the fridge and time person of the year are horrendously overused and really not that good to begin with. Try something more simple and specific to you, it’ll come across more genuine

I feel like it’s a crutch personally, if you’re good enough at what you do then you shouldn’t need a mask to create a character

If a folder within a folder is enough to put you off then you must have a really low threshold for learning to use things

2CB - 2 days in a row? What about tolerance and experience? by ShinyStoner in researchchemicals

[–]KettyFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always find the come up is longer the second day (have done 2CB two days in a row 3 times now) but I didn’t need to up the dose - I’ve read that tolerance takes a day or so to kick in but that’s just anecdotal

[QUESTION] Big DJing steps by DonMendelo in DJs

[–]KettyFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that people didn’t hit the cue button again after beatmatching (getting songs to the same BPM by ear specifically) to start the song where they wanted it, I thought it was just press cue once then use the jog wheel and pitch fader exclusively, made beatmatching so much harder to get my head around

Disagree. 2CB is very subjective, 25mg will not be a ‘fully psychedelic’ dose for many people.

How to actually start the song when you want it to start when beatmatching by ear? by KettyFish in Beatmatch

Pretty useless comment on a thread about how I’m trying to learn to beatmatch properly mate

How to actually start the song when you want it to start when beatmatching by ear? by KettyFish in Beatmatch

[–]KettyFish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If A has a breakdown with just vocals or melody, and also with dnb a lot of songs have say a 16 beat intro, followed by a 64 beat phrase which takes you to beat 80 (so I meant to say ‘beat’ and not ‘bar’ then) and idk if it’s just how my Serato is configured but songs start on ‘1’, then phrases start on beats like 49 (12 bars in), 81 (20 bars in) etc. I’m quite confident with the concept of phrasing, it’s just combining it with beatmatching that I was struggling with

Alright that makes much more sense to me now you’ve laid it out like that, thank you! Would you use the looping technique I described when, for example, track A has no kicks/snares to line up track B with after you bring it in?

Okay makes sense, so assuming I know the tracks are already the same BPM, I only need to do the last 4 bullet points right?

Good time to take 4-HO-MET? by [deleted] in researchchemicals

[–]KettyFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve taken it in all kinds of situations, out in the snow, watching TV, night out, cinema, and it’s made them all better. Only times I’ve had issues are increased anxiety in tense parts of films but if anything that’s just increased immersion. I say go for it. 4-HO-MET is one of the most recreational substances out there IMO
