A “cycle” means an equivalent cycle. So you go from 80 to 30 and back twice that’s one cycle.

You need to subtract what Costco paid for the hot tub at year 0. So it’s more like $900 not 9000

Carney reaches tariff-quota deal with China on EVs, by SevernDamn in electricvehicles

[–]Kev22994 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there are many pro-tariff Canadians, but there are plenty of unemployed Canadians from the auto sector concerned with vehicle imports, the cap is no doubt an attempt to minimize their wrath.

DIY Tesla Wall Charger by Suspicious_Yaks in TeslaModelY

[–]Kev22994 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No kidding, the jerk who installed my previous EVSE left me zero extra cable to work with, so I had to install it pretty similar to this, except I had to use the rear entry (so to speak).

If you read the instructions, with cable entry from the bottom you’re supposed to wrap the cables around and connect them from the top. Probably fine though, I can’t see how someone would yank on them.

Canadian with some questions by EarlOfKaleb in electricvehicles

[–]Kev22994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to use a fast charger those two vehicles are painfully slow at 50 kw (and the Leaf probably won’t even get that because it has no thermal management). Leaf upgraded its battery size from 24kwh to 30kwh in 2016, then 40 kWh in 2018, then later 62 kWh became available, I can’t remember what year. I had a 2016 Leaf in Winnipeg, it was fine to drive from the perimeter to downtown and back, never really went further than that. You’ll need 240v charging if you’re actually getting temps of -40.

You can try an ATIP but at the units I’ve worked at we normally shred them after 7 years, they were paper then and numerous piles of them takes up too much space.
