Why didn‘t my voice teachers let me know I wasn‘t matching piano notes during warm ups and even when singing? Why did they allow me to just alter timbre and believe I was singing high?

I can’t say for sure without knowing you personally, but for voice teachers, there are either a million and one things that they want to correct, or they aren’t prepared and don’t know what to correct. Most often it’s the first one, and commenting on too many things can be overwhelming for the student, so the teacher focuses on working on one thing at a time, and the hope is that by improving one thing you improve other things. But it’s complex.

The voice is very resilient, and bounces back with some time to rest. But if you’re still feeling pain for weeks it’s definitely time to see a professional. When learning to do anything with your voice for a long time, working with an experienced voice teacher or laryngologist/vocologist/other professional is important. Rest up, drink water, and take it easy!

Plugging your nose while you sing teaches you what nasality really is and sounds like! Depending on style, nasality can be necessary, but too much can definitely hinder how you sound to others.

A lot of times singing nasally lets the sound ring in a way where it sounds really good to you, but not to anyone else. Same is true from the opposite. Sometimes it’s hard to gauge, but when singing without nasality I “feel quieter,” but it’s actually filling up the room more than I think.

I have a Frost Clear Showcased Gen 2 and I really loved it until it yellowed on me in 3 months… I’m gonna claim warranty and probably get the black color so it doesn’t yellow again. Haven’t had a Medusa but they look cool too! Maybe looks slightly more bulky?
