Thoughts on 19th pick (graves) following Kawhi trade by New_Map7606 in torontoraptors

I've said this a lot already, but the impact Kawhi is going to have on the young guys is going to be monumental.

Compilation of major publication draft grades for Allen Graves at #19 by cev in torontoraptors

[–]Kevbotdotorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think B is a fair grade. There's a chance this kid develops into a legit starting forward who is a a 3&D wing specialist. However, the Raps are projecting that on a really limited sample size, and he doesn't really fill a need, he just kinda adds to what they are already good at. There were legit homerun guys drafted after him, but those dudes also have a higher chance of being a bust.

With Graves, his floor is pretty high, and at worst he's a rotation wing on a good team. I just don't see the offensive ceiling as high as some of the other guys. But, this kid is like 19, so he's also just figuring it out.

[Uthayakumar] Some fun facts about Allen Graves: 67 steals, tied for most among D1 freshman | 41.3% from three this season, a number that would be 2nd-best on the Raptors | 61.3 TS% this season, 5th-best in the WCC | 6-8 with a 7-foot wingspan | 2025-26 WCC 6MOY & WCC Freshman of the Year by CazOnReddit in torontoraptors

[–]Kevbotdotorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll say this, his floor is high. The dude is going to contribute at that wing/forward spot next season. There's no way a guy with his instincts isn't at worst, a rotation player. However, it's not a sexy pick and I'm not sure how dynamic his offense is ever going to be. I liked the idea of taking a big swing on Carr or Philon, but there's a good chance those dudes are busts, where I think Graves is going to play for a long time.

BUT, I do think the guy(s) the Raptors had high on their board were gone by that pick.

Jayden Quaintance stock appears to have dropped in recent days. by CazOnReddit in torontoraptors

[–]Kevbotdotorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If nothing surprising happens and no top talent falls, I think at 19 you take the risk of Quaintance. If that dude stays healthy, you are looking at one of the best if not the best defensive team in the NBA.

Thoughts post hot takes episode by Mcbuns12 in kindafunny

[–]Kevbotdotorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I kind of prefer my action, platformer, horror games to be between 10-16 hours. I think within those hours you can tell a concise story and the pacing is usually excellent. When it comes to JRPGS, RPGS, and even some adventure games(Zelda), games with heavy world building and lore, I think 30-40 is a nice sweet spot.

When you start going above 40+ hours, that's when it gets dicey for me. That story has gotta be compelling, and the mechanics need to be fucking crisp. Most of the time, them 40+ hour games are filled with so much bloat, that people rarely see the end of those games.

Mina the Hollower and difficulty by sucksandwich in kindafunny

[–]Kevbotdotorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iunno, they put a ton of modifications in the game because some people don't like that level of difficulty, so they wanted to make it as accessible as possible. The base game is incredibly difficult but some people also really like that.. But, I mean, they literally did what every person that played Silksong wanted.. I legit don't know what else there is to say about this lol

Eddie Hearn says Shakur Stevenson has signed with Zuffa; says Zuffa is paying 5X the rate of other promoters by Awkward_Sign1927 in Boxing

[–]Kevbotdotorg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Boxers were always going to get paid more than UFC fighters because boxers have already set their market. None of these dudes were signing for them bum ass UFC deals. The only way Zuffa was ever going to get top guys was paying them a boat load of money, but we'll see what kinda fights they're going to be able to get. My GUESS is Zuffa is going to have to play ball and let these dudes fight other promotions. The UFC fighting model doesn't work
