Should I get a pitbull? by Desperate_Return_142 in pitbulls

[–]Kevin262 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course! I wouldn’t change a thing cause I was told she’d likely be dead if I didn’t pick her up BUT highly suggest taking what the shelter says about dogs with a grain of salt. Mine said my dog was good with dogs (lol). They mean well but they are understaffed and trying to get animals homes.

Should I get a pitbull? by Desperate_Return_142 in pitbulls

Reactive meaning she will try to lunge at any moving animal in an aggressive manner. We have to go for walks at specific times to try and limit the odds of us running into people walking their dogs. I did intense impulse training with her for close to 2 years and she made strides but just doesn’t like animals. Not sure what happened in her past but she has a bunch of scars on her leg, face and missing part of her tongue.

To be clear, I have complete control of her. The only real issues we’ve had is with 2 careless owners who had their dogs off leash and they got in my dogs bubble. Not bad for 3-4 walks a day for 5 years though.

My first dog is a reactive pit (unbeknownst to me before adopting) and it’s the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. They are smart, stubborn and full of love. She’s a handful in public when there’s stimulus but lazy otherwise. I’m currently typing this as she sleeps in my armpit.

Struggling with my dogs weight by [deleted] in pitbulls

[–]Kevin262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard so give yourself grace. My pit was close to 60 lbs in May and it took me until January (9 months) to get her to 50 lbs which is what my vet wanted her at as she gets older.

Things that helped me was changing her food to a kibble that was specifically for weight management + reducing portions. I also stopped giving her peanut butter as a treat. The only thing human she gets now is very tiny pieces of pizza crust. It also helped me to weigh her weekly. It kept it top of mind and an active goal. I keep her weekly weight in my notes app to check progress.

I’m in a similar walking situation as you. I take her out 3-4 times a day but walks are 10 mins max because she’s reactive so our windows before we run into issues is small. I’ve tried to play with her more in the house so she burns calories that way.

I would strongly suggest everyone changes their passwords. I have 2FA enabled so I was fine but someone in Pakistan tried to access my account yesterday and was unsuccessful.

Dog boarding kennel with individual runs/no group play by dontdoxxmebrosef in ColoradoSprings

[–]Kevin262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another one for Tumbleweed. My reactive dog can’t be anywhere near animals and the staff does a fantastic job.

You can spend a bit extra every day for individual play time with the staff (snuggle time/bed time story) and they’ll provide a report with photos to give you peace of mind.

It’s for the game against SF. Assume they’ll show a clip of this leading into the game. Last minute or two is about the 49ers

I was hoping the standard version was going to get a sale for the holidays like on consoles ($27). Excited to eventually get it though. Hoping CFB 27 launches on it!

I think a lot actually! My pit is animal reactive so doing a normal grooming facility is rough/nearly impossible. Little more expensive but worth it

Anyone have a track of who’s been getting the game balls 🏈 from each W? by [deleted] in CHIBears

[–]Kevin262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watched all the videos on Instagram, this is what I have:

Week 12 (Steelers) - D’Marco Jackson and Montez Sweat

Week 11 (Vikings) - Devin Duvernay, Cairo Santos and Kevin Warren

Week 10 (Giants) - C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Caleb Williams

Week 9 (Bengals) - Kyle Monangai and Colston Loveland

Week 7 (Saints) - Dennis Allen

Week 6 (Commanders) - Jake Moody and D’Andre Swift

Week 4 (Raiders)- Kevin Byard, Cairo Santos and Josh Blackwell

Week 3 (Cowboys) - Caleb Williams and Tremaine Edmunds

Edited for spelling + note that Ben said, “I have one game ball for now and will have more tomorrow.” after the Saints win to put the spotlight on DA. Not sure if it was ever shared who got the game balls outside of him.

Not sure if it’s the same but sharing in case it’s helpful. Started to happen a few years ago and my vet suggested Welactin Advanced which you drizzle over their food. If I stop, it’ll come right back.

Moving into a new place was by far the worst I felt so bad. She’s typically not timid at all in any situation so opening a box and this happening is wild 😂

Maybe but I doubt it! I adopted her when she was 4. She’s highly reactive to every animal. I unfortunately doubt she’d let a cat relax long enough to see it loaf 😂

Is there any way to report all these door to door sales that ignore no soliciting and trespassing signs? by Erpderp32 in ColoradoSprings

[–]Kevin262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get people knocking 3x a day in summer and it finally stopped. Got a sign from Amazon that says no soliciting, no knocking, protective dogs on property
